It happened about the time I found out the piece of wood I was using had been infested with bugs. So that video full video is in the works.
It gave me an opportunity to fix a tool. This was my dad's drawknife and I am happy to bring some life back into it with this restoration.

Thanks for this! Took me a while to find one that didn't use epoxy.

Watch Wranglerstar's hand tool videos if you don't wanna see epoxy everywhere.

My drawknife is from 1837. I've been looking into getting it restored. Still cuts like the day it was forged!

Nice to see you actually peened the handles on instead of epoxying them.

I have my father's recurve bow. I would like to learn to use it. I would say it is 80 years old. Where would I take it to have it looked at to see what needs to be done? I know nothing as yet about archery except I would love to do it. THanks!

Throw that vice in the trash and get a decent one....and no need to lubricate the file. Just my opinion.

Does anyone know what the end caps of the drawknife handle are called commercially in North America? My searches proved fruitless. I understand I can use a fender washer but it doesnt have the same charm.

Just curious, but what did you coat the handles with? Very pleasant video by the way!
