    nice for shillca to send you another. I'd be curious to know the difference between a legit one and a clone. I've also see the clone floating around for a fraction of the cost.

    I am using a transparent pencil case I bought from daiso. Fits 2 co2 cannisters, co2 trigger, quicklink, quicklink tool, multitool, small stan tubeless sealant bottle, rubber gloves, zip ties and a topeak mini hand pump. Fits nicely in both jersey backpocket or in bidon cage!. Did rides of more than 100km and no issues. Never ever bounced or flew out of bidon cage even on bumpy road or when I bunny hop over portholes. Silca is high end product but expensive doesnt mean its good.

    BOA on saddle bag. It’s a matter of time before it loses and falls off your saddle. The Velcro strap approach is the best.

    I had the same problem with this seat bag. I tried everything: packing almost nothing in it; cranking the fastener as tightly as I could; jamming it forward against my seat post; even mounting it backwards. It never stayed fastened properly. It was particularly irritating on rainy days, when it dangled like a limp dishrag, sometimes spilling its contents, never staying put. I was determined to make it work, partly because my wife gave it to me for Christmas and I didn’t want her to think I was an ungrateful dickhead and partly because the thing cost more than a conventional seat bag. But finally I replaced it with an ordinary zippered seat bag and threw this one away. I’ve never felt more satisfied throwing something in the garbage than I did when I tossed this thing in the trash.

    Use an old pedal toe strap to keep saddle bags tight on the saddle. Wrap it around the bag and the seat rails. It also keeps the contents from rattling around.

    Best to have normal saddle bags with clamps. Having to worry about this during rides is just extra headache

    I bought this bag for 2 reasons… 1.it’s actually cheaper now that when it first came out ($55 AUD) 2. It’s only straps to the seat rails. My previous Lizard skin(more expensive that Silca) always scratches my carbon seat post. I’m also surprised how much it can easily fit a lot of stuff. Square shapes are probably more space for efficient that typical wedge shaped bags

    The mattone has a loop in the back that the strap goes through to prevent the bag from sliding. The roll doesn’t. I just purchased the mattone recently and I love it. Only issue is I have a similar sella Italia seat, and mine is the narrow width seat. Sometimes I feel the bag rubbing between my legs when I sit back in the seat. Otherwise I love the bag so far

    Yes narrower saddles, the bag may protrude out but I think it’s not only with the Mattone but with any other wider saddle bag. The Mattone is already quite narrow for a saddle bag.

    Your #1 issue with the Asymmetrico seat roll is actually one of the features of any seat roll. In a regular saddle bag, if the item you need happens to be situated all the way in the bag, you will need to take all other items in front of it out of the bag before you can get to your desired item. In a saddle roll - yes you will have to remove the roll from the saddle - you can easily get to that item leaving most of the content that you don't need in the roll. I think the primary issue causing the seat roll to slip is the content and how one arranges the content in the seat roll. I could never get it not to slip when the content in the bag was for my road bike (with TPU tube). But when I put a much larger spare tube - for up to 700x40c - in the saddle roll and mounted that on another Specialized saddle on my former cross bike, the seat roll stayed in place. It is also possible the more slippery material used contributes to this slippage issue. I have no such issue with seat roll Premio, the predecessor to the Asymmetrico, and it is made with significantly less slippery fabric.

  • @changrenyong7616
    @changrenyong76163 ай бұрын

    But in the end, I think this is a design issue. A properly-designed saddle bag or roll should not have to rely on its content to function.

    Decathlon saddle way better... cheap and very reliable. I think the problem is the BOA strap... it will loosen up... my cycling shoes with BOA always loosened after a ride .. and it's a short ride... my shoes with laces remain tighten. Rhinowalk have similar designed saddle as that Silica Seat Roll.... but with Velcro strap.. used it on my gravel bike... the bag stay tight even on bumpy gravel trail.

    they just need to add loops for the strap to go through on the roll. that way the bag cant slide away from the strap. it really is a poor design. if anyone is familiar with the bike industry this is more of the same problems we always see when it comes to testing products before theyre released to consumers.

    Nice of Silca to pacify this problem here. However, this saddle bag does seem very problematic and bad design is the main issue here. Surprisingly, just one product out of their whole line of products seems to be so disliked.

    You probably have not tried their sealant remover 🤣. It does not really work and it costs twice as much as Motsenbocker's Lift Off latex paint remover. They both smell the same, look the same, and they even have almost the exact same description on the labels.

    I’ve had the same Silca seat roll for 3 years and no problems. You don’t seem to know how to pack and roll it properly based on what I see how you have it on your bike.

    What is the way to pack it and why is it so complicated to have to keep my multi tool packed in a simple flat mat? This product is over designed and too complicated to use.

    @@OompaLoompaCycling [Added more info at the bottom] It’s more of a “stack” than a “roll” bag. You didn’t fold it correctly if that is how you folded it in the 1st review video. Right flap 1st and then left flap goes over the right flap tightly. Fold it and stack it tight. Rearrange the items if any items are loose and not solidly fitting together in the stack (3 layers). Then do the big Velcro strap (also do it tightly) and shape/shift the bottom or top layer so it’s stacked properly. If any corners are sticking out, stuff it in (should fit / tuck into the big Velcro piece). Done correctly, you should just have a solid “roll” that can then be BOA’ed to the rails. I’ve had this seat roll for 3 years and it’s been working as intended. It just needs a little “figuring out”. As for why, I think there was a trend quite a few years ago to DIY roll your tools up with just tube or velcro under the saddle. And then people started making fabric rolls: bikeundbier.com/2017/02/diy-bike-tool-roll/ Silca isn’t the first one to do so. It was probably really tricky to do a proper roll without such bags.
