Panic attacks literally feel like you are having a heart attack. Chest pain, arm numbness, nausea, feel like a hot flash on my face / ears and sometimes I get ringing in the ear too. And have "lost time" black outs with their own issues that are triggered by panic attack. I have MST Military Sexual Trauma, PTSD Anxiety with Disassociative Identity Disorder.

I have struggled with anxiety for about 10 years now. I have trouble being in any unfamiliar places. Vacations are very difficult for me. I was embarrassed and didn’t want to seek help. I finally saw a counselor for about 8 months and didn’t feel like she helped me at all. I wish I lived in California and I would see you!

Thank you for doing this channel Quenby! I know it/you will be informative and supportive! A few weeks ago, my primary care dr. sent me to the ER with symptoms of a heart attack (heart racing/palpitations, chest tightness/heaviness, arm pain, tiredness, sudden sweats, lack of appetite). I'm a super healthy 60 year old, but my dad had a heart attack at age 42, and both of his parents died early from heart attacks as well, though I do not have the same body type (obesity) or extenuating lifestyle contributors (smoking, alcoholic, drug abuse). After an EKG and blood test (to the tune of over $3,000!), heart issues were ruled out and anxiety was diagnosed. Other than when I lost my daughter in a full term pregnancy, I have never had these symptoms of anxiety, even during the years when my daily life and partnership was a nightmare of abuse! My life/relationship is now one of contentment, security and abundance...so I'm assuming that even though I don't necessarily feel anxious/stressed, my body is subconsciously reacting to the effects of the current chaotic world situation, and am working hard every day to acknowledge and balance the overwhelm, worry, uncertainty, disruption of normalcy, and lack of control I am actually feeling...as are many, many people these days I would imagine.

Ok so i have to admit that you gave some really good pointers on how to deal with anxiety. Some that i have never heard of. Over the years i have learned how to deal with Panic attacks but my anxiety stems from a child. And i have yet still not been able to really control it. I do believe therapist help sooo much i have been to two in my life. One for panic attacks and 1 when my sister died in 2014. But i never really talked about anxiety. Prime example, Last night i layed in bed all night thinking of all the bad things that a "going" to happen. I have no idea if they will, they probably won't. So with that said i know i need to talk to someone again but this time about anxiety. So who ever reads this. your not broke you just need to talk to someone and that's ok!

Thank you for explaining the difference between anxiety and worry in understandable terms. I appreciate the strategies you offer. Today was the fist day of Fall classes and anxiety was showed up for each class! lol After classes I felt felt overwhelmed and wasn't sure where to start. I started a list of the things that needed to be done today. So yeah journaling (making a list) helped me. Also scheduling and forming a study plan is what decreased my anxiety. Didn't give me much time for reselling but it's alllll good!
