Thank you. I ended up with the Sigma 10-18mm. Own quite a few Sigma APS-C and full frame and no Tamron’s lenses and I liked the Sigma pairing with the 18-50/2.8 with their really small size on my A6700. Also own the Sigma 30/1.4 and 56/1.4 primes for this kit and the Sony 15/1.4 G. Im very happy with the purchase for sure. Enjoy your reviews. Take care.

Thanks for the awesome review. I was considering both lenses along with the Tokina 10-18mm ATX f2.8 which was on sale for $399. I have a Sony A6700 with the Sigma 18-50mm f2.8 and the little Sigma 10-18mm was the perfect complement for my compact kit. In the end the compact size and the minimum focus distance of the Sigma was what won me over the Tamron and the Tokina. I initially bought a Sony 11mm f1.8 but I found that it was too wide for a street lens. In the end the 10-18mm zoom suited my purposes better as a walk around lens and as you pointed out can also be used indoors as a studio lens. This kit fits in a 3L Peak Design Bag and I find that I take it out most of the time instead of my full frame kit. My friends are surprised that this APSC kit is lighter and more compact than even their Micro Four Thirds Kit.

i originally wanted the tamron, then was leaning towards the sigma when it came out, but i stumbled across a deal i couldn't pass up on the tamron and couldn't be happier with it. I haven't felt the need for the extra mm on the wide end, but the extra reach, at least for me as a travel/ everyday lens, on the zoom end has definitely come in handy. I'm sure the sigma being sigma is a great lens, but the tamron has been great to me! I appreciate all the advice and insights on the two side by side and the original reviews. Camera crisis is my first stop when I'm considering new gear. Thanks as always Mark.

Thanks so much for comparing these two lenses. I think you are one of the first doing this even though it's so obvious to compare these two lenses. I own already the Tamron 18-300mm for APSC as an over all travelling lens but thinking of a wide angle zoom to complete the set (not talking about some primes as Zeiss Touit 32, Zeiss Batis 25 and a Samyang 12). Thank you for helping me in deciding.

The Ulanzi sounds surprisingly better, especially at the low end frequency. Of course the distance range is lower as is the bitrate, but shouldn't really make that much of a difference if you're going on KZread . I guess the build quality is what matters. I wonder how the Ulanzi would handle a drop, or general usage over time. Still, it's cost effective enough to easily replace. Great review!

Reason asking is, that I was pleasingly surprised when I saw pictures from the FF Sigma but not from the little one. Wondering if that had more to do with my cam in that case. (A6000 vs a7c). If its similar, I'll probably just go grab the a6700 then

I bought the 11mm before, and for real estate videography, and vlogging it is wonderful, but for landscaping or street photography, I definitely need to change lenses. I can't justify having both, so I have to make a difficult decision sony 11mm vs sigma 10-18mm. Someone help us.

Mark, thank you for the highly entertaining review! It's a nice move of Sigma to give the 10-18mm at least one "weak" point compared to the Tamron, which would be the close-up center sharpness 😉But to be honest, without Tamron's 11-20mm there might be no Sigma 10-18mm, so thanks Tamron for going ahead, and showing Sigma what works on the market (😉 emoji, again). I finally sold my Sony 11mm F1.8 today, and am now waiting for the Sigma 10-18mm to arrive. Seems there's a bit of order backlog on the 10-18, at least here in Germany...

As I commented on Mark's Sigma 10-18 video, I bought the Tamron 11-20 the day I learned from Mark that the new Sigma was released. Comparing number-wise I had a bit of buyer's remorse. 🙈 But I brought the Tamron along on a recent trip where I shot a lot of video with it, and I was pleasantly surprised with the extra reach the Tamron has. I'd have to switch lenses much more often with the Sigma. That 20mm doesn't sound like much, but it just makes the shots feel less "wide angle", than the still relatively wide feel of 18mm. I recommend trying for yourself to compare the two.

I have not fully decided on the sigma vs the tamron yet. I have been very happy with my canon 28-75 tamron for years. And now I find the tamron 11-20 on sale about $100cdn cheaper than the sigma. This video is a good comparison. Tamron sharper in the middle where it counts the most really.

@@scannerapps3503 Recommend to compare the two in your hands. Last week had the chance to hold the Sigma, and boy is it lighter! There’s that mental thing on whether you’d grab a lens with you, and weight counts a lot. Especially for a focal range that isn’t the usual mid-range. The other day I weighted my options (pun intended) whether I wanted to carry the extra weight of the 11-20, or found 17 wide enough. The Sigma would have been a no-brainer.
