Thanks for the video! You're the only one I could find that confirmed it has the lower one third cowitness option. Thanks for the info!
Great video Neal. I believe it is the best on the net ! Your reviews reflect the the quality of your work and also of your reputation as an individual. Very detailed and very high quality. Excellent ! By the way, the optics guys at SIG told me that the 5XDR will work with any Aimpoint T1 Compatible mount. To obtain an absolute co-witness, purchase the low version from the vendor of your choice.
Just got mine, came here to see how to switch reticle and you taught me. Who knew it was so simple lmao. Thanks.

Thank you for this review I don’t buy anything without youtubing it first and I couldn’t find a review that actually showed the reticle.

Your welcome. Glad it helped! Check with me (neal@heartoftexasarmory.com) first before you order one (if you already haven't) because I have the best prices anywhere on these .
Awesome video man I just ordered the xdr for my mini 14. Thank you for putting this out there! Too bad it doesn't have the window underneath the sight like the standard 5 mount so you can see your irons beneath the actual sight.
Going with this for my new AR pistol build. Thanks for the review.

Your welcome!
Got one for my AK it’s great.
Absolute co-witness is lower than 1/3rd.. if you want the dot on the front site.. take out the riser.. if you want the dot hovering over your front site or site in the lower 1/3rd of your red dot... put on the riser.. fyi

Read this after my reply. So you don't need to buy additional pieces? Guessing you are speaking from experience with this model?
Subscribed. Awesome content, appreciate the review! Wanting to buy this optic for sure for a new build of mine. Emailed ya if you are still giving out a good price for it by chance
It's a nice looking Holosun that uses a AAA battery. A quick note: do not over tighten the mounting bolt/screw. It will snap off right at the end of threads.
I have astigmatism too and I agree the newer reticles are much better and if you stick a magnifyer behind this WOW super crisp and clear a match that is hard to beat love the AAA batterie it’s the reason I own this. Aimpoint? EOTech? Who’s that?
I have been running Romeo 5X/XDR's on ALL my AR's for about a year. Circle Dot/Auto shut off-on/AAA Battery/ Capless adjustments/Badass looks, what's not to like (I bought my last one for $152.00)!!!!

While I own and use the Romeo5 XDR, I do find Holosun and Primary Arms making very strong high quality at affordable prices. In fact, I own and use one from each of those Brands. To all you "high end" makers of Red Dot Sights, I must say....WATCH OUT. We consumers will benefit from this battle. :-)

These are made by Holosun.
What is the temperature range of this optic? I live in a cold environment.
How does the 65 moa circle and dot look like with a a2 front sight post?
What kill flash, and flip covers works on this?
I’m having trouble turning on my XDR. It was just on and I turned it way down now I think I’m in NV mode. How do it get back to illumination? Thanks
What screws doo they use do they use the same as romeo 4 for the high mount riser??
Will you have the x or the xdr available any time soon?
How clear is the 65 moa circle with an astigmatism? I have a slight one and I'm trying to decide how well this will work for me. Thanks

They are some of the best ob the market for folks that have astigmatisms. But since everyone's eyes are different it's hard to say what'll look like in your case. I have astigmatism and I see the reticle just fine. Others aren't so lucky. But always remember you can still use an optic even if you have a radical that is affected by your astigmatism. You just zero the optic on a certain point/part of the reticle.
How long did it take you to get it dead on bullseye, with the adjustment turrets? I bought 2 of them and mounted them the same on 2 MP-5’s. They were both way,way off target and obviously need more range time to adjust them. I got them for $129 each,which is a good deal IMO Thank you for posting

Typically the Sig Sauer Optics that I've mounted on my weapons have been very close to dead on right out of the box. Very little adjustments needed. I think the issue might be that you're mounting them on an MP5. The mounting system on that is a little bit different than say in AR15. That's probably why it seems like they're off a bit.

Heart of Texas Armory thank you for the reply. Great to know how close accuracy is out of the box when using a AR platform. I have the pair of Romeo 5 red dot 🔴 CowhiMounted on ATI mp5sd carbine in 22lc. I definitely have to take them back and hone them in better.
I’m thinking about putting this on my CMMG guard 9mm. Any thoughts on this on a pistol carbine ?

I think the XDR would be a great choice for your Guard. Also consider the Holosun 510C and 510C Elite. I have a $50 off coupon for the 510C and 510C Elite. And a $40 coupon for the XDR. Check out my website to purchase one.
If you had one rifle and had to choose between this or any of the holosun micro dots, what would you choose? Great video.

I'd say that the XDR or the 503GU would be what I would choose. Both are excellent and are good value for the price. Head over to my website to purchase either one. Use coupon code XDR40 for save $$ on the Sig

Are these nitrogen Purged? Unlimited eye relief? Parallax Free? Think I might get this. 50,000 hrs on an AAA battery is insane. The mo tac is a great feature. Also love/prefer the circle moa dot. Was looking at holosun but they don't have AAA battery sights and I don't like the battery housing compared to the ease of this
@HeartofTexasArmory

Yeah it's a great optic some some amazing features. I believe they are nitrogen purged. I've never had them fog up on me. They are parallax free and have unlimited eye relief. Let me know if you want one.

It lower 1/2 co witnesses out of the box the adapter is for lower 1/3 co witness. Out of the box on an AR it co witnesses with Magpul Back up Sights.
i noticed on the box it says, 2moa dot and/or 6.5moa circle but that was not demonstrated other than the dot with or without the circle. Is it indeed one or the other or both individually or simultaneously? Thanks!

There are two reticle choices. The first is a 2 MOA dot, and the second choice is a 2 MOA dot with a 65 MOA circle around it.

Other than the Predator XDR, do you have any idea if Sig plan to have this model available GREEN?
@HeartofTexasArmory
4 жыл бұрын
I think eventually we're going to see a lot more Sig Optics with the green reticle. Right now there is the XDR Predator and Romeo MSR available in green. Sometime this year they're supposed to release the Romeo4H with a green reticle. I'm sure we'll see a few more in 2021.

Hey do you have the Romeo 5XDR for sale
Have you found any qd mounts that would work with this?
@djedgejr

Any Aimpoint compatible QD mount will work. American Defense, LaRue, etc. They must be the low mount though due to the battery compartment.
How far from the eye to sight. Is there some limitation as far as distance is concerned.

I have a question I just bought one of these but I think my dot burst if that makes sense do you know if sig has s warranty on this item
@HeartofTexasArmory
5 жыл бұрын
Sig has their Infinite guarantee. So there is a no questions asked warranty if there is something wrong with the unit. But it sounds like you have an astigmatism which is causing you to see the dot as a starburst. Take a picture of the reticle (make sure its is in focus) and compare what you see in the picture and get back with me.
@dg7506
5 жыл бұрын
Probably an astigmatism. I have same issue but before you return try this. Focus on the object at which you are pointing with both eyes open. Look “thru” the red dot, not “at” the red dot. I found this to be very helpful after i learned about my astigmatism, along with my prescrition glasses the red dot is noticably clearer, but not perfect. Still very very servicable. Play around with it a bit. Try one eye, then both eyes. You’ll find you’ll love the two eye fully open approach as its intended to be used.

Dana G it comes and goes depending if I’m in or outside and how long I’m looking at. Thank you both for your response. I killed a 245 hog this weekend with it so I satisfied lol
-- WAY late to the party here, but doesn't Holosun make these optics for Sig?
Does this red Dot wash out on a bright day?

Is the front glass suppose to be slanted?

Yes. First time I shot it, I thought that I had damaged the lens somehow. It's supposed to be slanted at a pretty good angle.

There isn't a loop to tie that torx/windage/elevation tool to a lanyard? That stinks.
Hello. Hello. Hello. Echo much?
I have the earlier model and won't get this one. Has anybody reading this ever had issues with AA batteries leaking? It's not uncommon it happens quite often you can't just leave these batteries installed without taking the chance you might damage the product there installed in. I've never had an issue with cr2032 batteries leaking. Not that it's never gonna happen but I've never had an issue and when something cost hundreds of dollars I'm not taking that chance. This is a product you want ready when needed so you need to have the battery installed it's not like somebody breaks into your house and waits for you to install your battery in your optic it don't work that way.
@donrichter3523

Yes, alkaline batteries leak. I don’t recommend them for anything valuable. My advise is to use Energizer lithiums, or a good rechargeable like Eneloops.
Do you know how the MOTAC would work riding all day in a vehicle? Wondering if it would stay on constantly.
@letemfall91
6 жыл бұрын
Kenneth Wilson It would be on constantly. The Motac sensor is extremely sensitive. I set mine on my dresser, let it shut off, and stomped on the floor close to the dresser and it turned back on. If you're traveling long distances, I'd definitely recommend turning it off completely beforehand
