Siemens NCDC 2013 + CID Colour Display In Depth Tour Overview Review Vauxhall Opel Omega 3.2 V6

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

Here we have a walk through video of the features a top of the range 2002 Vauxhall Omega Radio/Display as fitted usually in the 3.2 Elite variant has. Although the colour display was mainly an optional extra at the time around (£1,000-£2,000) if I recall, but you'll find in the UK at least it's the 3.2 Elite that's most likely going to have this set-up. Different story for the rest of Europe with the Opel variants.
It's a Siemens NCDC 2013 head unit with the colour information display also know as a (CID) for short. The display brand is Sharp. It was quite something to behold back in the day first available around 1999/2000.
Thinking about it now not that many cars had such a display, Unlike now almost every new car has them even small superminis unlike back then only the top of the range executive sized / branded cars had such features.
There was also a NCDC 2015 head unit which also had the inbuilt phone (Nokia if memory serves) a black box type device that took up most of the glovebox which took your mobile SIM card.
Unfortunately these units / cars are lacking modern things we take for granted which are essential these days with devices like iPhones needing a USB port, Bluetooth, Aux input etc..
Back on topic, The NCDC 2013 + CID has a inbuilt Satellite Navigation system, But lacking a post code input search (as can be seen in the video) Nevertheless even to this day it's a fast reacting system which gives you plenty of warning to any upcoming exists to take on a roundabout, junction etc... The Sat-Nav is run by a CD which has its own dedicated slot on the head unit (which will also play music CDs if you don't wish to use the sat-nav) or You can get a later Nav disc for instance this car had a 2002 Disc so there are likely to be some out of date roads. The last/latest disc available for this system is a 2011 Disc unfortunately.
Personally I find it a good navigation system to guide you home rather than find an address, It's completely fine finding a location but an address is something it's not really been designed for.
As for the sound system it's mated to a Bose speaker set-up sound system which also was something to behold back in the day and still is a fine crisp clear sounding sound system. The head unit has a 4-CD cartridge auto changer, (unlike yesteryears Senator with the 10 stack CD changer in the boot)
That's about it, There are the other little features you can take for granted such as low washer fluid, icy conditions at 3.0c, oil low, check bulbs fused etc.. warning symbol that pop up on the colour display... Not forgetting the Fuel consumption, distance, fuel range, trip distance etc..
Overall if you can get this set-up for your Omega it's well worth it tbh. Much easier to read over the GID display usually mated to the NCDC series as standard.
Similar units where also fitted on the Vauxhall/Opel Vectra C & Signum, ELITE, GTS, MV6, GSI etc.. These had a few different features but more a less very similar. Later cars such as the Insignia or Newer Astra would have post code search etc.. VXR / OPC variants would have had the logo on the standby screen. NCDR 1100 etc..
There will be a how-to remove video on the removal of the NCDC head unit soon.

Quite advanced. Would probably still shit on some modern day cars.
