DAMN! That thing is AMAZING!

Hello. I had one about 35 years ago, I used for about 1 year but it was too difficult to use for a teenage inexperienced boy... So I sold it for a Roland JX-8P but now you are giving this keyboard the right media exposure it deserves. It was my first synthesizer... you know ... Really Good Job. Thx!!!

My favourite sounding synth of them all. Unfortunately, I can't play one just love this instrument. My dad got me into his Moog LP's from a very young age. They used it on the CFF film 'Pop Pirates' too which is one of my all time favourite films. 😉

I read in a interview Seba said that he is useing opera 8 in his music, if I'm right. Seba is a goat in dnb music, check him

io sono pentitissimo di averne dato via uno, eravamo ancora abituati ai suoni degli strumenti acustici, non ci siamo resi conto del valore reale che avrebbero guadagnato nel tempo, complice anche la chiusura del marchio dopo l'acquisizione da parte di Roland

Sounds like a nominal mid 80s analog including the 50Hz hum. :O Difficult to recommend - *unless* you get it much cheaper than a vintage Juno/Jupiter and are OK with some missing features (and 1 added one - faster LFO, not super useful but). With current appreciation it could be your stealth analog. Enjoyed you having fun with it. :) Thx for upload, didn't know about this one.

Thanks for doing this video! This is a beautiful sounding instrument, and it's very rare here in the States. I have never even seen one in person, but I can't give up the dream of owning one someday. How is the build quality? I'm curious about the construction and what the keys feel like to play.

Build quality is ok. Knobs and such feel good butvthe plastic sides feel brittle. Keys are a bit tibthe plastic side and not weighted, but there fast and responsive. Hope that clearifies thing's. I really hope you get to play one as they are a bit special.

hi Joakim, I´m rearing this synths and I´m wondering, where to get good sound, like yours. do you know, there is a firmware, so that you control from DAW via midi CC.

In standard form you can not edit the synth via sysex or cc. I don't know if there's an updated firmware which allowes this. I just tweak it from the front panel and all the sounds you've heard I created myself. Thank's.

you are lucky to have a (fully?) functioning unit of these completely unique machines, most are beyond repair. A hobbyist hasn't got the skills to troubleshoot the extensive battery damage these have, apart from the wonky connectors and pcb's. Most seasoned synth techs will steer clear of these, seeing the many, many hours it takes to iron out all the kinks in them, beecause what are you going to charge your customer...

Joakim Floke is it hard to maintain? Is it a reliable machine? I found one and I’m tempted, the other choice is the ob6 but, call me crazy, opera 6 has that something that mesmerizes me, any suggestions?

@@s.f.n.641 It doesn't have any thing againt the OB-6 but it charm and character. It's is pretty solid build, but it getting old and might be in need of a recap. Otherwise it's just a normal "change the memory battery" synth. They are getting rare, and they do sound special. So if the price is right, go for it.
