Sideshow Booth Tour at Sideshow Con 2023!
Ғылым және технология
We check out a few of the new Premium Format quarter scale statues unveiled at this year's Sideshow Con. In lieu of being at San Diego Comic Con, Sideshow has their massive booth setup in-house, with no need for acrylic display cases separating our cameras from the figures. Here are some sculpts from the DC universe, including a steampunk Batman from the Elseworlds graphic novel Gotham by Gaslight!

Have to say the host is very well spoken, she's knowledgeable on all the products and knows how to present the items.

Amy is like the best for this kind of stuff ..at SideShow 😁👍
That Batman by gaslight looks amazing would like to see what a Robin of that era would look like.
Your videos are amazing norm sir thanks for sharing
Amazing details I would love to get these
You didn't discuss Zattara!!!!! That sculpt looked stunning!

They weren't expecting it to be there. Just beforehand they heard "nrut otni llod" but couldn't figure out where it came from.

I have that Zatanna figure. It is amazing. In person it’s breathe taking. It captures the theatrical element of the character brilliantly.

I think the torso on batman looks really off? Otherwise, everything looks incredible

I agree... it completely stands out as being set back away from the lower body

Agree as well. The difference is slight, but the top, midsection, and legs are all at a different scale. For example, the hands and feet seem just a little too small for size of his head. The midsection is also stretched unnaturally - like he has two sets of hips. [EDIT] after studying it some more, it may just be that the external oblique is more pronounced than normal in the sculpt. Pattinson is pretty lithe, so he might actually have the skeletal length in the midsection. Also, the vertical line created by the holster is making his hips and thigh appear narrower than they actually are. In all, still a bit too wonky looking for me ... and I still don't like the size or shape of that fist (compare to the second sculpt, which is just a leather glove.)

I first read this as (Slideshow BOB) 😂😢
The Penguin is just outstanding. Every Batman-Collector was waiting for him and Sideshow totally nailed him. Amazing Piece.
1:28 Wow ! Beautiful !
Great video
Very nice that Tested was chosen to cover some of Sideshow Con. It’s too bad Sideshow didn’t do a walk through of the whole setup or get the chance to show off the Poison Ivy in this exhibit environment.
For each action figure, you have to leave a part of your body and organs 😆
What about Zatanna? 😢
👍
sideshow con?? san diego comic con is happening right now!

Oh my god. She uses so many ephemeral words I feel like I'm watching the shopping channel. Yeugh. Be real.
This basically is a commercial…

I definitely don't understand tha artist's work, for me I think its lazy. But artists like this carve a niche though social media where fans want to see the same aesthetic put on various things they are familiar with. Instant recognition with minimal confrontation or surprise.

@@agimasoschandir yes, I do. I have lots of models and figurines. Vintage hi-fi, comics, art books, cameras. But these distressed sculptures relate to... Nothing. And they're kinda ugly.

The crystals growing out of a centuries/millenia-old carbonite slab lost to time? I can accept that. Crystals growing out of droids with none of their internals showing doesn't make any sense to me. I get that this artist has developed it as their signature but I find it clashes pretty heavily with the subject matter.
This should be marked as promotion, because it’s just an advert.

@@tomstrutton4351 the FTC requires content that is sponsored to be clearly marked as such. This isn’t a review, it’s literally Norm fawning over a product in a video, so either Tested is missing a trick and not being paid to produce advertisements or they’re being paid (or offered trade in kind, and that could include flights and accommodation or meals or any other consideration from Sideshow) and not declaring it.

@@Szlater [This isn’t a review, it’s literally Norm fawning over a product in a video] I suppose him fawning over something he likes, and then demanding that people go out and buy it... nop, he didn't. Huh. And his fawning,, he should have acted in a different manor. How though, so he does not give the impression he is selling stuff🤔

Yup: lazy, ugly and a totally irrelevant and idiotic concept.
Sorry to be negative, but I have HATED Sideshow Collectibles ever since their webmaster 15 years ago actively tried to get me to give up on my Special Effects dream by telling me that he knew someone in every Effects studio (including his "good buddy" Glenn Hetrick and they all supposedly told him that Practical Effects were dead.

They are kinda on life support. Don't get me wrong: I love them. First movie I remember seeing in a theatre is "Jason and the Argonauts". And Star Wars got me on a path to a 35 year career in the tv industry (movies were out of reach). But, honestly: practical effects, as a career, is a bit "niche".
