What a fun and easy project! I use the weighing technique to determine if I have enough yarn to make another hat or whatever. Saves me a lot of time and the stress of hoping I have enough!

I know gauge isn’t too important for non-fitted knits like shawls, but what were the measurements for your shawl? I know everyone’s might be a little different, but I’m just asking for an approximation. Love your channel, and thank you❣️🧶

Honey, I am dar'near ambidextrous, there're actually things that I can do better with my left hand than my right hand - and I am right handed... So here is my query... ☆ Is it possible for me to learn left-handed knitting along with righthanded, and just go from side to side? WITHOUT FLIPPING , mind you ? ☆ Ya know, kinda like those old typewriters when you get to one end , you just hit that "go back lever" and alluva sudden, you're back at the beginning ~ only, there'd be a hitting of a switch in the brain, to change from right to left hand (or whichever), knitting back the other way? There are two people I have seen knitting a particular way on YT videos and they have the yarn strung around behind their neck, I would assume, and they simply place the yarn around the tip of the hook with either thumb, depending if they are left or right-handed, but they do transfer the yarnwork from one needle to the other and then turn them around instead of just going back and forth? It seems to me I could go back and forth this way if I wanna. Just switch from ready to lefty and go back the same way I came without flipping the work. I mean, the yarn is coming at the work from the center and being placed by the thumb... what could be and easier way to just go righty to lefty and back again, so forth and so on, and Bob's yer uncle Aunt Fanny, and now she has a scarf done, right? I don't know what type of knitting that is called, but if you or any of your viewers know, can you please tell me? I want to be able to look up more about that type and see if I can find someone who actually does knit the way I WANNA. ( You see how determined I am, lol). In the one vid, the lighting was so bad, as was the camera very old or perhaps even only 2G ( very 3rd world surroundings ) I could barely tell what the lady was doing - I have 3rd world eyes, with 3 cataracts, but it did show that the yarn was up around her neck. This grandma was lightning fast! All the lighting was good on the other vid, and it showed how the lady was knitting, yarn was up around her neck. Alack and alas, thee videos were so short, I don't know if they were just working back and forth the way I want to without having to flip the work using just a left or a right hand method. Have I made this clear or is it pretty muddy? Please help. You are just the sweetest thing and pretty much my only hope because I asked and asked who my I thought were the most knowledgeable knitters , B U T , as with a lot of very knowledgeable people, If it's not within their realm of familiarity, they will say it's impossible. I do not believe everything I hear , as wisdom comes from a multitude of counselors. I am hoping either you or your followers can help me out, or at least head me along another path to find out what I seek.

The technique is called Portuguese Knitting, where you either have the yarn looped around the back of your neck or through a pin on your shirt. Supposedly it's faster but I've never really gotten the hang of it to know if that's true.

In mirror knitting you can knit right to left, and then left to right without turning. You work the stitch from behind the work on the way back from left to right, though.
