You're doing an important job in metal right now: showing people that it's okay to experiment and that not every record has to use the same 3 (more like ONE) speaker. These sounded so good. Wasn't huge on the Tonespeak. Cannot wait to hear more non typical speakers used in metal context.

The blue is a real sleeper. My mix at the minute is a Jensen Electric Lightning and a Seventy 80. The Seventy 80 is very similar to that Manchester, massive dust cap and scoopy so by itself its rather flat but the Jensen fills the mids out.

EMINENCE DV-77 + CELESTION BLUE. I have been a huge fan of the AlNiCo BLUE for since 1964. Yes... I've been playing that long. Longer! 63 years. For me Celestion G12M-25s and Blues are IT for me. But HEY! I'm an old guy with two 1964 Vox AC30TBs and two 1965 Vox AC30TBs plus a few '60s Marshalls, Hiwatts and Fenders. I use EVM-12L speakers in a 1974 1960a with the Hiwatts. Big lesson here is if a person is stuck in a mic placement rut, always positioning a ''safe'' microphone in a ''safe'' way that they are familiar with, then they are missing so so soooo much of the overall picture. Brian May is who comes to mind when I think of the Celestion Blue because his Queen recordings capture the main essence of it. However, when you listen to those Queen guitar sounds closely and imagine what was possible, ie how far they COULD have been pushed in different directions with different amps and mics and processing, it boggles the mind as to why more Blues aren't in use today. The outer 1/3 of a Celestion Blue cone is a very interesting place when you have the nerve and time to explore it.

To my taste the Alnico Blues don't really make sense together :/ Essentially harsh metal sounds, sound best with the blend of ceramic speakers. It's not in vain that we all love V30's and Greenbacks. I adore the Alnico Blue but it's SO specific and has that rich high definition Alnico vintage UK sound. Works beautifully in clean to saturated clean- mid overdrive scenarios to my taste. I know that Van Halen used to combine the alnico JBL's with ceramic speakers and it really worked for him so I guess it still is personal and dependable on what are the circumstances. I LOVE your speakers videos. Please keep making them. Cheers.

Tip. Use a warmer/darker ceramic or neo with solid lows and pair with a Celestion Blue or other brigh/chimey alnico. Why?The ceramic will provide the transients - the quicker attack (translates to punch) while the alnico will sound spongey & bright yet smooth on the high end attack (more compressed & pleasant sounding, smoother & intersting to the ear).I've tried several combos,it always sounds great.Next level tone. There will be a subtle tactile difference that doesn't always translate to the untrained ear in thesew demos. But once you play a little while and sense the difference in response & feel everything else will seem more 2 dimensional.

Really like to see you trying some 10” speakers, even doing some blind tests between 12’s and 10’s to see what people prefer. Blind tests are so important to remove bias and focus on the results not the expectations or bias people may bring with them.

@@KohleAudioKult awesome. Bassists seem a little more adventurous with the speaker sizes using cabs with 10’s, 12’s or 15’s. Would be nice to see guitar players vary from using 12’s. I use a Orange PPC410 (4X10 closed back cab) stacked under a PPC212OB (2X12 open back cab) and the blend of 10’s and 12’s is really nice to my ear. The 10’s are much more quick and responsive.

I have zero V30s. I have a Eminence Texas Heat (well broken in, an absolute necessity with that one), a Celestion Century Vintage (neo-dymium), a Celestion C-90 from a Boogie cab, and an Eminence Governor. Love them all. I would like to have a V30 to put in a 2x12 cab with a G12-75T… I also like high power Celestions (Lead 80, Redback, G12K-100). The Creamback is very nice too.

I love the Alnico blue. I compared it to the g12h-30 and they’re voiced so close it’s insane. You want 120w 412 that sounds similar to the blue, look at the g12h-30 anniversary

Ive been using the ruby red IR's and the blue in my torpedo cab m+. My go to now is your DV-77 impulse ;) just incredible! I do a video over them in my cab m + video, but I also show them in my newer vid with the free IR shootout. Would be awesome if you checked em out :D please excuse my bad playing lol

I'm definitely fairly boring when it comes to my Zilla fatboy with a v30 and creamback haha but I've definitely tried to experiment with a metal tone mainly using my Peavey Windsor with a Boss SD1 and DS1! I fully support creativity in metal tones!

Only started watching the channel recently, so don't know if I've missed it or not. But have you tried WGS speakers and The Hesu Demon speakers ?? The demons sound awesome. Don't know if the demon would sound good enough on its own or as a blend. That's something I'd quite like to see

the Blue sounds great, for some reason reminds me of the speakers in my 90's Valvestate cab ? .....that is your micing of the Engle through the Blue ....makes a similar tone to My 5150 block, or Jet City JCA50 through my Valvestate cab...In the room...which is odd hahaha
