Shure PSM 200 Wireless In-Ear Monitor - Unboxing and Overview - P2TR215CL

A brief Unboxing and Overview of the Shure PSM-200.
Set # P2TR215CL
www.fullcompass...
A video about setup and wiring is here: • In-Ear wireless monito...
Pro Tip: if you wish, you can use the rear panel output jack as an INPUT, just use female XLR connectors on that end of the cable. I wouldn't use a Female to Female turnaround (barrel), because the jacks are soldered to the PC board and the heavy barrels may eventually break the solder joints of the jacks. This will help those who rack their units, and want to leave the cables connected and still be able to put the front and rear lid on the rack.

Just got this today for about 200$ on sale, can't wait to try them out! I've used the SE215 before, and those cost about 100$ around here, so it was a pretty lucky deal to get this whole set for 200$. Good unboxing! Had to reference to this before i bought them! Good job! :)

I used a standard XLR (microphone) cable. You may use a TRS (1/4", not guitar) cable as well for the proper wiring. If you had poor signal, make sure your source is a balanced XLR or TRS AUX or Main output of a mixer or similar device. Do a search for "wiring in-ear monitors". Thank you for watching!

@clarkewi if you have one transmitter, you can have as many receivers (body packs) as you wish, however they will all share the same identical mix.

@Jay Elliott yes, the signal will pass through to the output jacks as well as being broadcasted. If that's what you mean.

I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with the PSM 600. Since it is no longer manufactured, one might imagine that it was an entry level unit that didn't fit a price point that was acceptable. It seems now that you may choose between the entry level PSM 200 ($599.00) and the pro level PSM 900 ($1239.00) and PSM 1000 ($5105.00). If you have an opportunity to try the PSM 600, go for it and see if it works for you. Your satisfaction with a product is what really matters.

Just stumbled upon this system and it seems that it could be enough for only 1 band member. Have you tried maybe tried it live? I have returned the NUX (which is beautifull system, well thought through but with crappy sound and hissing like angry cat). Is this loud enough with no hiss? Thanks a lot

Been having problems with the receiver once putting new batteries in (that were cheap panasonic ones), the volume was cutting out for 3/4 of the band, clipping randomly and saying it was out of power already. Is this due to a cheap battery or something else?

  • @therockstudio

    @therockstudio

    4 жыл бұрын

Hmm. So you have 4 receivers and 1 transmitter? How did the audio sound on the receiver that didn't cut out? If it sounded fine, go with better batteries. Make sure the transmitter is within range of the other band members (try to place it somewhere high, not blocked by equipment). And check the antennas on the transmitter and receivers.

this may be a dumb question....but what type of cord did u use to hook up to the front of the receiver? I bought this used from a friend and it was left behind by a band that used their services. The band ended up not wanting it back for some reason so he sold it to me :) I hooked it up by way i think it should be hooked up..but I just used a 1/4' to the front....and the signal was pretty poor...Im just thinking I don't have the correct hookup...please let me know

EviiL A. Yes. you need a mixer with at least one auxiliary output. one microphone. And something to which you can sing, like a karaoke song on KZread, a keyboard, or something like that. plug all of them into your mixer, plug the mixer into your wireless transmitter, and use the aux knob to adjust the level of each source going to your ears (in-ear monitor system). thanks for watching! hope this helps.

Alain Name make sure that the body pack and transmitter are in the same channel, and then try different channels to see if it works better. I use Duracell procell batteries, or rayovac (very inexpensive, but good) from Home Depot. Also, make sure the antennae are not damaged.

Gospel Dj Xpressit yes, think of the transmitter like an FM station in your town. Every car in town can tune in to the radio, right? Well, as long as you all have the appropriate Shure PSM 200 receiver, everyone in your band (or in the entire venue) can tune in to the transmitter and hear the same mix. If you each want a different mix, you must each have your own transmitter and receiver.
