Shredding the Suburbs! - Inline Skating Urban Flow Skate

Urban inline skating doesn't require a crowded city for a nice shredding session! In this one I visit an area I've never skated, and had a great time. I love going to a new place and seeing what the environment has to offer. Plenty of good surface to skate and plenty of room to go really fast. These longer frames and bigger wheels are turning out to be amazing for the style of skating that I like best.

    This is honestly why I watch my own videos. As I listen to music I like, it takes me back to the feeling I have when I'm skating. I just look back fondly on the time I spent getting fresh air and exercise.

    I love when people notice it. I try to line up the music with the skating, but obviously it doesn't always work because I select the music after capturing the footage. Plenty of it intentional though, so I appreciate you noticing :)

    I've realized I'm in a fairly good skating area meaning I don't have to go far to at least just have some good asphalt to cruise. I'm close to a city as well. I have options and I know I'm fortunate for that. Are you in a very rural area?

    @@WheelyArt That's awesome, I'm glad you're enjoying it! It's invaluable to both my physical and mental health. The only thing I don't like about skating is that I hadn't done it for the past 22 years. I'm back though, and I hope to continue skating until I can't anymore. Free skating is new to me. All my experience previously was pickup roller hockey as a kid, but I just love urban free skating now. Keep it fun and celebrate every little bit of progression and you can't go wrong. Surely if you're watching my videos, you're also familiar with Bill Stoppard - discovering his channel is kinda the reason I'm here. Very inspirational.

    What knee caps are you using in this video? Any feedback?

  • @rerollinginline

    @rerollinginline

    2 жыл бұрын

    They’re “Triple 8 Knee Saver” and my feedback is that I don’t recommend them. Sounds silly considering I use them in almost every video, lol. I think they’re cheap, with low quality materials and don’t protect very well. Their best quality is their slim profile, but that’s at the cost of protection. Still, I’d be lying if they didn’t save me some skin multiple times. I’ve also had them slide down in a fall and still give me road rash. A risk I take. I also have a set of 187 Killer Pads knee pads that are better quality, but are more bulky. Unfortunately there is no magical very light and very protective knee pad that I’m aware of.

    @wza360

    @@rerollinginline oh thanks for such detailed feedback. I need to get something, because I sometime use my bicycle downhill knee/shin protection - that’s the bulkiest thing you could thing of and often grab my sons knee caps which surprisingly fit my knees well and protect I guess we’ll enough. I will look into those you mentioned. By the way, is there a way I could contact you offline - I have some creative suggestions regarding your thumbnails. I’m making some videos my self and I was investigating “punchier” thumbnails impact on views. I would like to suggest you some collaboration on that topic - maybe could make few versions of thumbnails for your next video (no charge for sure, I just love what you’re doing and would be happy to help you getting more views). You can check mine on channel - style could be very different, but I clearly noticed from other people data and even my one video statistics - punchier thumbnails do increase views of videos in “suggested” column.

    Great video with awesome moves and flow. What is your setup? Endless 100/110 frames? I just received my custom made Adapt GTO's and still undecided if I will buy the Endless 90 or the Endless 100. You see, I have small feet (26 cm each) so is it wise to get such a large frame (wheelbase = 303mm)? My former skates were Bauer fitness skates, btw. Looking forward to your reply.

  • @rerollinginline

    @rerollinginline

    2 жыл бұрын

    Thanks, much appreciated! So these are FR1 Deluxe Intuition skates with Endless 100 frames. I'm rolling on "Undercover Team Blank" wheels (86a hardness) Both my feet are 26.5 cm, so I've got similar sized feet. If you're an advanced skater, I think it ultimately comes down to personal preference and what you want to do on your skates. The 100s cruise faster, but they're slower to start sprints, they're a little heaver, a little longer etc. That being said, after a handful of sessions I was totally used to them and I think they work for my style of high-energy urban free skating. I still honestly don't know if I prefer 90 vs 100. I want to ride the 100 a few more months then switch back to 90 and see what I think (I rode 90s for 5 months before the 100s) The one thing I was "nervous" about was that 100 would be too long and I'd be tripping over myself. Well that was not the case. I'm not sure I'd recommend them to a complete beginner, but if you're advanced, you shouldn't be "afraid" of 100s. Just know it's a personal thing and you might still like 90 better even if you can skate 100 well. Also, congrats on the Adapts. Those things are absolutely gorgeous. I've been thinking about getting a pair.

    @@rerollinginline Thanks for the explanation. Surely, it is a personal preference, but great to know that we almost have the same foot size and that you do not have problems with the length of the frame. I would like to purchase the 90/110, but here in Europe these are completely sold out. And I do not want to wait 3 months. The Adapts are great and worth the investment. That is, so far for how they fit. I ordered these because I was fed up with buying larger boots, just to be able to fit my wide feet. You see, I have to wear size 42/43 (European) to fit my feet, but I in fact I have a size 40.5 (US8). I only have to heat them to make them snug my feet.
