Show me the data -- becoming an expert in yourself: Talithia Williams at TEDxClaremontColleges
Dr. Williams' Talk will explore how each of us can begin to collect data about ourselves that can provide insight into our personal health.
About TEDx:
In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

Excellent talk, fantastic educator. So good to see someone taking control of their data, asking questions, demanding answers and meaningfully acting on them - thank you Dr Williams :)
One of the best talks I have watched on this platform. Pity about the dreary audience. Props for such a compelling way to drive such a powerful message. Inspired to change how I see myself.

Very well said. Mind blowing. I am going to measure myself starting tomorrow
Excellent engagement & presentation.
I am currently in the Springboard Data Science Track Certification program and just finished watching this presentation. This is the way I want to be able to interact with my audiences going forward.

I am also doing the same course from Springboard. I realized your comment is from 2 years ago. How did the Course work out for you? How easy was it to get a job afterwards?
I found out this by myself that no doctor knows any better about yourself than you. And only we are the most interested ones in tracking the data about ourselves.
The saying 'those who can't do teach, massively discounts the power of great teachers'
As a doctor, I would love patient engagement like this. If I can't justify my actions using best available evidence, I shouldn't be doing what I'm doing. Also there are medicolegal issues which may sometimes motivate physicians to make decisions based not getting sued, which is why she was asked to sign a waiver.
Fantastic talk. I'd love to have her as a teacher.
The best presentation that I've already seen. Excellent! 👏👏
very interesting approach...great talk!
Also, wow! Incredible presentation!
Doctor that was one of the best talks Ive heard.
I’m convinced, but how do I know which data to track, and what it will tell me? I mean, there are so many things you can track, but you can’t, and don’t need to track them all. Also, how much time and effort will it require?
My Spelman, sister! Great job!
Amazing talk! Thanks dr
Very engaging!!! That was easy to listen to.
Amazing!
WOW!!
the talk that launched infinite novel cases of chronic hypochondriasis
Great presentation. Don't you think transferring that data gathering process into a mobile app will give more meaning to life and will help women master their body and their cycles(if this hasn't been done yet) . Help others help yourself.
This talk was before Apple Watch, right? 🤔
"Donald and I were pregnant with our third child..." Wow, I'm not a statistician but I know with certainty that a pregnant man is an extremely rare phenomenon.
Doctors hate her
see Stephen Schneider's book "the Patient From Hell" Doc's don't have very good numeracy. and shitty data collection and analytic skills.
