The real point of the "Show me" question isn't to demonstrate that you know where the knobs and levers are in the cockpit, it's to make sure you don't lose control of the car while fumbling for them. The really important part of it is the "When it's safe to do so ..." As Josh the Driving Instructor points out in one of his videos, getting the "Tell me" question wrong won't cause you to fail, but it's one of the things that can make you look like a numpty straight off the bat, which is something you want to avoid when you're trying to give a good impression. (Of course, in my test I had the question off pat and then managed to nearly hit the post when driving out of the test centre car park. Operation Don't Look Like A Numpty fail. Somehow I still passed though!)

Finally i can type a message like this so here it is ... passed my test today with 3 minors absolute smooth test and grateful, i had failed twice before for silly reasons and seeing others pass and myself not was abit downing but now i have and couldnt feel better !😅❤ thanks for the videos , dw i wont unsub 😜

I reckon this is a great tool for mock tests as well! You can then really see what mirrors they are checking ect ect. Would definitely help learners! Great video btw!

for the how to check indicators working question your only actually checking the hazard lights working by only pressing that to check indicator operation you should also add i would then check the actual indicators work by using the stalk on the column to operate each side in turn and either re check them outside yourself or by reflections or get someone else to walk round the car whilst you operate the stalk on the column. i know dvsa answers arent great but adding that if asked on your test would be extra brownie points for the pupil. Also tell your pupils to only tell and show how power steering works when examiner is actually in the car ,if he is snydy and asks when he is outside the car on your test and asks that and the pupil without thinking starts the car its an instant test fail and test termination due to theres no qualified driver next to the student tthe pupil is now also not driving in accordance with their license, they are also classed as being uninsured as again no qualified driver is sat next to them and they are in charge of a motor veichle on their own on a public road and also if mtr policeman see them its 6 points a fine and of course a ban

3:30 you said "you don't need to exit the vehicle." Which is why he thought that your not allowed to go out of the vehicle to check it. The question should have been more clear.

I'd be interested in one of these video's with an experienced driver (that likes cars). I think they'd have more elaborate answers that really make the point and on how and why you do certain things in a specific order.

yeah that show me tell me question nearly cost me a minor. my intructor had gotten a new car, and i'd only driven it to the test centre, she asked how do you turn on the dipped headlights and i hadn't got a clue lmao

At 15:00, I would've stopped there, people were pretty near the crossing. I might be wrong, but it looked a bit 50/50 as whether to stop or not.

They won't ask you about identifying sufficient oil but all other questions are free game.

If I were you, I would check 'highway code for Ireland ' but Most of the lessons would be applicable to Most drivers

How many questions do they ask?

I think practical test is more hard then theory is it??i have cleared my theory but, thinking about practical now😮
