I will say that the new tacoma looks good, however 50K +dollars for a small four cylinder truck is WAY TOO MUCH. I'll keep my 2021 4runner thank you.

Toyota went to the 4-cylinder with turbo for emissions, not MPG. Just more efficient and burns cleaner. So you can thank the government for pushing more and more rules and regulations on car manufacturing. Just more rules for their green net zero agender there is only one way to get net zero by less breathing by anything or anyone.

No doubt it’s a great truck...but the other manufacturers are making great trucks too at significantly lower prices. This truck does not stand out in any way.

I have learned a long time ago that never buy the first year of a major redesign of any vehicle.

@@DanBrandotrue I bought a 2022 Honda civic sport got it for 30k one of my friends got one recently for 24k

I purposefully bought the 23 TRD Off Road, double cab, 6’ bed with the Premium and Technology pkgs because it has the proven reliable and durable 3.5L Naturally Aspirated V6. I put over 300K on my last 3.5L V6 and it still ran like new. Historically a Turbo engine simply doesn’t last as long as a N/A engine. We keep our vehicles for 15-20 years or 250K to 300K miles and at my age my 23 TRD will out live me.

For the increased price you don’t even get a power seat, full size spare tire, turn signals in the side mirrors . There is no value in the 4th Gen Tacoma.

Positive its got more power, negative it wont last 150k, Positive it looks good, negative it cost 2x more than it should

3rd gen looks way better

2024 is overpriced and unproven. I have at least 10 years left on my 2023 so I will see what is in store at that time. Most likely full electric is all the government will let us buy in 10 years. Manufacturers no longer build vehicles the consumer wants, they build vehicles the government wants.

$38,000 at Longo ? SR5 I've looked at are $45,000 plus add on' at $49,000 way over priced for a 4 cylinder and made in Mexico. Not for ME!!

What was that corrosion problem on your Tacoma that took awhile to fix? Also you should have mentioned that all midsize trucks like the Ford Ranger , Chevy Colorado are about the same price range as the Tacoma

Ive got a trd off road for a work rental right now. Seems cheap made but is pretty quick and averages 18 miles per gallon. Not crazy about it but does drive good.

50k out the door for the same model truck in my town, also california, so will skip it. Have a 2007 tacoma with the 2.7 liter, good enough for what i use it for and dependable!

I honestly drive the new SR5 Tacoma , I like my 3rd gen, the new one feels like RAv 4 but on a Tacoma body ! The interior is nice 👍🏻

Toyota sense 3.0 is neat. I had a guy blow past his stop sign by a car lane, and the tacoma slowed down before i noticed.

Ive had my 24 trd off-road premium package for one month and have put 4000 miles on it using it for work and doing a lot of off-roading. Love the truck so far. Yes the 4 cylinder engine reliability is in question, but ill most likely trade it in for a 25 with V6 engine when they release anyways..

grabbed one of the last brand new 2023 sr5 v6's last Dec. I'll be holding on to it for a while.

Should have grabbed a Frontier at least you get a V6. And doesn't say Made in Mexico in the door.

TFL did a test of a brand new Tacoma on a moderate trail. Front differential and transfer case exploded 1st run on a light crawl.

My 08 4.0 V6 has 220,000 miles and runs like a top. I fully anticipate making it to half a million miles. Oh and it was payed off the day I bought it. Never will I ever get a loan for a vehicle. Borrower is slave to the lender.

i And Some Friends Have 3rd Gens Tacomas for a while. and i never heard about Anyone Complaining About the Front seat Nor Anything About The Things You Just Mentioned.

You're lucky you were able to put 3000 miles on it. I have a 2024 that has been at the dealer for 34 days due to paint issues and the dreaded system malfunction. I love the truck, but qc has to get better. My truck only has 623 miles on it and 300 of those are trips back and forth to the dealer

Can you tell me what recalls are on the 2024 Tacoma?

Only buy one if there was a fundraiser for me to buy one. Toyota has shifted production to Mexico, while they switched to 4 cylinder turbo from v6. I am thinking the saving will be passed to consumers, not expecting 15k price hike on certain models.

What's crazy to me is the hybrid 4 cylinder engine. You're getting the same mpg as past v6 engines. You're buying this truck for looks and added small gimmicks

If you don't spend the big dollars for the trim with the integrated brake controller there is no easy way to add one . Don't let The salesman tell you that there is a plug for an aftermarket controller . ---There isn't . ---I wound up trading in my 2024 for a low mileage 2023 3rd gen

Remember when Toyota had the Tundra commercials pulling heavy load up this huge ramp. Toyota trucks were once tough and mean looking. Now too sissified Plus you can’t get a piss ant in the back seats

Save yourself $25k and buy the Nissan frontier

First off those tires look too big for the SR5, also here in TEXAS I’ve seen them priced between 31 & 36K depending on accessories. Also that’s a nice looking truck.

You will be happy with new truck until you see problems like tundra. One solution is sell it before get into any trouble. That is what Tundra owners do now.

I'll keep my 2nd generation, with 75k miles on it. It will take me until I decide to find a new truck.

No. Buy a 2020 tundra 5.7L TRD pro for $50k.

Pick up trucks were in high demand so the high prices. But it will back fire on the dealership..

Buying public is saying no to the New Tacoma so far, sales are down 55% from last year thru the first quarter of 2024 and so far this year the Frontier is outselling the Tacoma by nearly double.

People who love Toyotas, don't want all those electronics. More electronics means its less likely that you'll be able to work on it. Lane departure? If you can't stay in the lane on your own, you shouldn't be driving.

Not a fan of the “rhino butt” look of the overall outside appearance of the new platform. As far as the new seating height, I guess I’m the only one that feels the third gen seating comfort works as opposed to the fourth gen seating which I thought was uncomfortable for me. I do however appreciate your honesty, as your the only new gen owner that’s not trying to inject fourth gen “Kool-aid” in my veins about how perfect the new gen is to the previous gen and ANYBODY who has a third gen Tacoma needs to get on board and scrap their piece of junk third gen for what they have with the fourth gen Tacoma.

I have driven Toyota 4x4 trucks since 1984. I was a die hard fanboy. No more. They are overpriced, underwhelming and EVERY Toyota dealer I have gone to in the last 24 months was a greedy gouger “getting his piece”. To add insult to the injury, the got rid of the 2023 perfect body style and presented this finback. Whoever buys one I hope you never regret it.
