i run the bluetti ac200 max in my new raptor , when its not being used in the car i use it at home to power things like the air fryer , coffee machine, ect helps knock down the power bill , at home i charge the system with 3 x 475 solar panels , and in the car i fitted a victron orion 12/24 15A charger , i also use the bluetti for my old skool muscle car when i do events

Barney for the name for the 80 series. (Ie Barney Rubble from Flintstones). Since you already have a “Betty” Use whatever is handy for notes / workings - still carry pen and notepad but prefer (Excel) spreadsheets! I agree with the portability or a power station and its ease of use. To test the waters - I bought a smaller Bluetti EB3A which runs a 48l Mycoolman overnight - and use the little mycoolman battery during the day - no issues. Pass through charging. Minimal weight and space. Also used it during the recent storms when we lost power. Only thing I’d consider extra would be a solar blanket to use when parked up. Set up is so versatile. Will look to upsize this station if/when can do some longer trips in my stock 200 series. Good review - but looking forward to the test of the 80 series. I previously owned an 80 and a 60 series and they were both pretty capable in the bush without modifications. Hopefully you’ll keep the mods to a minimum - just to show people you don’t need to ARB your 4wd to have a bit of fun off road.

As for names for your 80, here are some suggestions: Hulk, Basil, Croc, Gator, Pickle, Toad, Yoda, Greedo (Star Wars fans will know), Fredo, Gamora (Guardians of the Galaxy fans will know), Gecko, Grinch, and Shrek, just to name a few.

Definitely pad and pen,so much easier than phone. I've called Pete from 1st class and he does great work and easy to talk to . Call the 80 The Grinch.

Powerbanks are great for portability and ease of use. On the down side is cost and half a grand optional extra for a DCDC charger. DIY setup is hands down cheaper excluding the time involved to setup which may be a negative for some. An absolutely negaitve of DIY is the installation cost if you're unable to do it yourself due to the exorbitant cost of labour for an auto elect. Don't hate me Steve but there is at least one 200ah battery which cost only only 30% more than a 100ah iTechworld battery from a reputable Australian manufacturer (in anticipation of the components, I realise that the cells are manufacturerd in China). I'd happily own a powerbank but the cost is more than the effort which I require to build my own setup. Thanks for sharing. Cheers

agreed re the fast car charging being a game changer. once that happens, 12v systems will be a thing of the past...

My question is seeing you have had experience with a few....What's the battery life like is the internal battery replaceable once the old one isn't holding charge as new....or are you up for a whole new unit...

Use a small 12 to 240 inverter running off your car battery while driving to charge the unit through it's 240 charger set up.

I’ve done similar in the past as well to try and top them up in shorter trips. But not really ideal long term and kind of defeats the purpose of the unit if you need to have a battery and inverter in the car to charge it

Got the AC180 version. Used it on 2 trips recently covering 4500km and kept the fridge running without incident. Did not get below 40% charge. Charges at about 100 watts and fridge drew about 45-50 watts when cycling. So when the fridge is idle you are getting the full charge into the unit. The AC180 needs to be plugged directly into the power outlet via the Bluetti cable to charge. Doe’s not charge if plug it into an extension cable and then into the power outlet. I suspect because of voltage drop. Those cables are pretty thin. Bought the 1.5 metre cable from Bluetti which enabled me to position the unit up against the back seat. Unit came with 75cm cable out of the box.

As for the 80 name How about GR8TY for green 80. Pronounced greaty. I went the path of buying all the bits. I agree if they had a built in DCDC charger that would be the best bet having that portable system.

The day someone puts a built in DCDC with an Anderson plug is they day they really go nuts with sales I believe

Easy confusion. It’s 30amps at 56v. Or 48v. I can’t remember now.

I bought the last 2000w model for exactly the reasons you stated. I’m sure you could buy an additional lead for the solar input socket and cut the lead and put an Anderson on it 😏

I have thought of doing something similar.

I can see the appeal of these new power stations. But for me their biggest drawback is exactly what you mentioned at the end, their lack of ability to be charged via a DC/DC charger (only via the 12V socket w/c is extremely slow). And they also lack the ability to accept more than one source/input of charge at the same time. Either it's solar only or 12V socket only. Not both. The only quick way to charge it is via 240V mains. So not ideal for a 4WD fridge being left on, 24/7.

With those short comings not worth the money in my view. The company would be better off investing in sorting these issues out rather than giving every KZreadr with more than a 1k subscribers a unit to promote after using them for a couple of weeks. Half of them are very inexperienced and would not have the experience to know what was good and what wasn’t. This criticism does not include this channel in anyway…just my view.

Note pad. Wonder how it compares to the goblock from redarc? Redarc doesnt have an invertor though? Not sure
