@@vanillabear2319 In Latin, "necesse est" (c is pronounced like k in Latin) means "it's necessary". Since necesse is already a word in Latin, why should we take the English translation and change the ending? Just pronounce it with a "k".

That Ancient Vulture is basically the Grand Thunderbird from the Terraria Thorium mod even down to the summons, other than that it looks cool.

This game really looks like early terraria, with the graphics, dark shadows, color pallete, weapons. Back when skeletron was the hardest boss and you would fight eye of cthulu with dynamites and sunfury

I really dislike the idea that a game should give X hours of enjoyment for X €/$/etc, as I think the quality of the time is a lot more important than the quantity of it.

I think of hours played as the cherry on top, an afterthought. I played Dyson Sphere Program longer than Factorio but i still think Factorio is a better game.

i think its a valid formula for certain games and certain people. open world survival sandbox games are a genre i can consider for this type of judgement, but ofc its not the only factor to think of.

If you stop Liking the game after 5 hours but the 5 hours was great. It's obviously a worse game than a game that was great for 50hours. If they cost the same it's a very good metric to see how good the games were..

Obviously still in development but I wish instead of 'several' bosses you said the exact amount, 35 bosses sounded like a lot in V-Rising compared to 11 years of terraria but I was done with V rising in 2 days

I own both and I say Necesse by a long shot. Keplerth isn't bad but Necesse's quality of life considerations alone are excellent IMO.

necesse is latin, in ecclesial latin it's pronounced ne-che-sse, but in classical latin it's pronounced like he does in the video.

Actually I knew the word in latin, and that was the point: we grew with the word already evolved, spoken in most common languages as "ne-ce-se", dropping the sharp tone "ch" as in "k" sound. So it sounded weird in the video for me, just that! :D Thanks for the comment, loved that! ^^

@@douglasmurdoch7247 the progression is more about armor than weapons, you discard weapons after getting lots of use out of them, and they're all well designed and worth playing with for some time. The progression is there, but there's a more unique spin on it.

This might be one of the few games i'm willing to pay full price for. But 3 questions 1. The quest system, is there a "random quest" system, you talk with a NPC that gives you a random task so you have someting to strive for and get some extra loot by completing it, or is it just "get this, done, now fight a boss, repeat"? 2. Does the bosses have loot tables and how repeat-able are they? 3. How big is the "stettlement system"? Do you need to have a "working economy" (food and such) or are they just there? I would personally love it if you needed to ensure they at least have food, but if you could get them other stuff, liike clothes, tools and build them the kind of houses they want, you can get money (taxes) and rewards ("I love it here" gifts) from them.

1. Most of the time, you will get a random quest like "get x item from y enemy" and then the next one will be a boss. Basically these quests alternate, item, boss, item, boss. The quest rewards are insane though, so definitely try to do them 2. They have loot tables, usually 1 weapon for each class or a trinket (trinket = terraria accessory basically) The boss summons are pretty easy to make and the bosses are imo always fun to refight, so it's not that bad if you don't get the weapon drop you want. Also in my experience in multiplayer every player will receive the same drop per kill. 3. I've never played rimworld, but the settlement system I think is very big. Lots of customization, and food is a big part of the equation. Having higher quality food and high variety of foods is a huge factor for their happiness, which is extremely helpful in lowering shop prices, increasing selling prices, taking shorter work breaks, and even more. If you have a big and booming farm, they can automatically produce tons of high quality food for the settlers and you. You can also give settlers and guards weapons and armor, making them very powerful and nice to protect your settlement. Very fun and addicting game, highly recommend

I wish i could get into these games, but every time i try, I fail. The premise is so interesting when I watch reviews, but when I delve into them, I get bored pretty quickly. Dragon Quest Builders 2 was the only one I could sink way too many hours into.

I just bought it and started up a world and the map is massive. You spawn on an island and can sail to the edge of the sea to enter a new island/territory. Also you can go underground in each island meaning there is no lack of resources.

the progression feels unrequired cons wasnt explored much, you can simply just use npcs to defeat bosses, alse there are traps to support you

If someone has never played terraria comparing it to that constantly doesnt tell them anything. Talk about the game you are actually reviewing. I havent played rimworld and hearing over and over its like rimworld means nothing to me.

Frankly, the lack of Depth for the Settler Management System for me is a positive, not a negative. I highly dislike the high depth and complexity of games like Rim World and thus hope that they will never add more depth in this game...

I'd say Necesse, as to my understanding Keplerth is out of early access, and doesn't have the room to grow like Necesse does. I was having the same dilemma as you and decided to buy Necesse. Plus it's on sale on Steam til June 6th.

You didn't even take the time to find out how to pronounce the name of this game. The actual word is Latin, and its pronounced "neh-che-see" The developer however says its a play on necessity, and is pronounced "Neh-sess" not "neh-keh-see" . sheeeeesh.

just because its similar to terraria doesnt mean u have to bring it up every 2 seconds. necesse is amazing in its own ways and shouldnt be constantly compared to others as it dumbs down the aspects that give it charm

Personally I did enjoy the game. I would of have loved to keep it, but unfortunately had no friends to get interest in it and I dont like to play these types of games alone usually. If I want to play alone, I just download the games... I cant afford getting every game I want. Ive not gotten a new game in over 10+ years except now I got Green Hell from the sale. Never have the money :DD EDIT: Just checked how much Necesse was on Steam without sale, its only 9€ (little under) but Ive only got 3€ on my bank account...
