I have a teenager on the spectrum. He’s high functioning and struggles in school. This spring we learned that online school was a better learning environment for him when his grades went from 3 F’s, 1 D and 2 A’s to all A’s and 1 C. Our struggle this summer has been do we keep him at the school he’s at so he can to continue to work with the same support team and just hope that there will be an online option or do we enroll him in an online school and start over with new support staff.

My heart goes out to all parents who have to make such an awful decision from two possibly bad scenarios. I have no school-age children, and am not in this "fight." I've heard from both sides regarding staying home vs taking chances with going back to school. I will not take sides and cannot judge. I will keep all parents, teachers, and students in my thoughts and prayers that each are able to do what is best for them. Bless you all.

One good thing about this virus is kids begging to go back to school 🤣

No choice for us. Schools are starting with distance learning. It's gonna be a nightmare. But it's what's best. I don't think we will be back in the class room all year.

This is seriously the debate in my head every day....my daughters counselor keeps calling wanting an answer but I'm like 🤷 ...

Hey guys! Yeah I feel the same way. Here we go again. Pen's singing in this video is AMAZING! Who else agrees? You guys definitely deserve more subs.

Penn has such talent , singing with himself, it’s amazing. As a student, online school is my preferred way to learn. It’s far less stressful and I’m no longer spending an hour and a half every day getting ready and walking to the bus stop, riding the bus, etc.

if my mom keeps me and my siblings she will probably have a headace everything

Two months ago I looked my boss straight in the eye and said “There’s being optimistic and then there’s being reasonable. I work too hard picking up other people’s messes to not know how much Customers don’t care about me.” So I quarantined myself for my mother’s health and now my fellow employees wish they had done the same because it got bad quick. It’s 200+ cases a day where I am. Wearing a mask helps, but it’s only one of the five things needed to combat this.

Totally feeling the same- they’ll try to make it work at school but one case and the whole thing will shut down. I’d love some alone time back to work on my online business but might have to abandon it to be the super mom/teacher/bus driver/ etc - can you do a parody of “whatever it takes” to get some knowledge back in their brains...we’ll do whatever it takes! Lol (imagine dragons)

Our school district is doing “hybrid” for the first two weeks, which means half of the school goes Monday, Wednesday, Friday one week and Tuesday, Thursday the next week.

My district was the same, 2 middle schools and 1 high school, but the HS is pretty big. They are doing options, online or back in class. We live in a rural area so less COVID19 but more science-denying idiots

My high school is making us go online first, then when we go into phase two we'll do blended

This sounds like the Nextdoor and local FB moms group discussion EXACTLY. They all have to pick and it’s driving everyone insane. We’re “lucky” at the charter school who just made the decision for us- starting at home with the hope we’ll go to our hybrid plan at some point when numbers look better? I just loved Penn's musical rendition of this song. Gonna be replaying this a lot - so catchy. I liked Penn's vocals to the music better than the original. I'm going to have this song stuck in my head all day, probably the week or longer (Target circles was like that) also really liked Penn's flash dance version from the other day better than the original too. Penn can do any song, but some songs are perfect with his voice. I'm jealous of this guy's musical talent and skill. Wish I could make music like that! ☹️😭😁♥️💕

You guys are so great! I'm glad that my kids are all adults! But I have 2 grandkids going into 2nd grade and kindergarten. The older one is very high risk from heart issues, and will continue distance learning. The little one will also be distance learning as my daughter can't risk her bringing anything home to her. Needless to say she's devastated, but she gets it.
