Should we give nature legal rights? | Spotlight EP 10, Earthrise x Bloomberg

Ойын-сауық

We haven’t been kind to nature. We’ve cast it as separate to humanity, all the while extracting, exploiting, and plundering. Yet as the climate crisis deepens and we all begin to feel its devastating impacts, more and more attention has been turning to the question: do we need to change our relationship to nature?
In this episode, we dive into the Rights of Nature, a growing legal trend around the world that recognizes nature should be given legal protections - just like we are.
We’d love to know your thoughts on this topic! Let us know in the comments below.
Spotlight is a 12-part series on climate solutions created in collaboration with Earthrise and Bloomberg Originals.

Could be argued that corporate personhood has set a precedent for giving legal rights to nature.

Hey! Sorry to bother you but, I'm doing a project for my English class and it's about gap years. I saw that you took one and I just wanted to ask you some questions about it. 1. What made you take a gap year? 2. If you traveled on your gap year, where did you go? 3. How did you find out what you wanted to do? 4. Do gap years help your mental health if you're burnt out? 5. How were you sure that what you do with your life now is what you really wanted to do?
