I get what Krause was saying about the Celtics, but the Bulls were still the champs, unlike the Celtics. MJ, Scottie, Phil, and the Bulls should've stayed together until they actually lose. You don't break up a team that's still winning no matter how old they are!

Imagine if MJ had decided to do what LeBron does? Realize his team's getting old and leave to a better situation. MJ could've signed with the Lakers with Shaq and won in '99, 2000, 2001 then prob retire at 38. Or because he likes a challenge, he could've signed with a promising team that needed a #1 guy, like Portland. Portland almost beat the Lakers in '99-2000. If MJ goes to Portland in 98-99 & played with Rasheed Wallace, Damon Stoudemire, Pippen if he gets traded there a year earlier. That team wins a chip.

Pippen was not a top 20 player for single season of his career after 98,still an above average starter in the NBA but no all star level.and literally your entire supporting cast was free agents. Hard to imagine Ducan and Robinson not putting up monster numbers if the Bulls had come out of the East. That said **uck Krause.Pippen should have gotten his bread and Management should have done everything they could for Pippen,Jordan and Phil to make one last run together. Let the champs stay the champs until someone knocks them off their throne.

I distinctly remember Jerry Reinsdorf's comments about not wanting to "be the Celtics". He worried so much about that, they set new standards for futility after the end of a dynasty. They have sucked since then, save for a couple exciting playoff runs with Derrick Rose before slamming into LeBron. Nobody talks about the post-Bird Celtics anymore, but the new low is the post-Jordan Bulls.

Here's my take. I think the bulls had a greater chance of not winning the next year then the previous one and that's coming from a huge MJ fan. You have to remember the pacers almost beat them in 98 , they were so close, infact I was thinking they were gonna lose until the last few minutes that they pulled it off. The next year they woulda had to play against much better teams, Kobe was already a much better player , the spurs were a way better team then the year before . If the bulls would have not made it to the finals or lose in the finals in the next season (assuming they all came back) I don't think we would look at MJ the same way we do now. We would actually had to realize that he was mortal and can lose lol. So I think it would have tarnished his legacy a bit. Don't get me wrong he woulda still been the goat

They would have 4-peated if Jordan and Pippen. Jackson came back in 1999. Knicks wouldn't had made the Finals as an 8th seed and Bulls would have played the Spurs in the Finals. Duncan and Robinson wouldn't had their first ring. If Jordan hadn't retired in the 90s twice, they would win 8 straight titles and probably had face the Rockets. Then Hakeem wouldn't had won a ring. Neither would Clyde and the others on that Houston team.

The league was kind of watered down post expansion draft and thus maybe we should take that into consideration with Jordan but I won’t but in a lockout shorten season I think that Bulls team would have a chance although it would not have been as smooth it would be possible.

My 3 remarks on this FIRST Yes, I saw MJ and he is the man primarily becuase Lebron is still playing. Lebron's cement is wet - while MJ's cement is dry SECOND MJ had Phil Jackson as a coach and folks underestimate the significance of having a GREAT COACH MJ never won a title without Phil Jackson as coach Phil Jackson is a clear Hall of Fame coach who went on to win rings with the Lakers Lebron has taken coaches to the finals (Mike Brown and David Blatt) and then also to championship titles that will not be in the hall of fame (Eric Spoelstra and Tyron Lue) and they never returned to the finals or haven't won a title since Lebron left THIRD (The numbers....No, not scoring titles and No, not championships.....ALL THE OTHER NUMBERS!!!) As of March 2020 MICHAEL JORDAN Points 32,543 Rebounds 6,672 Assists 5,643 Blocks 893 LEBRON JAMES Points 34,087 Rebounds 9,353 Assists 9,298 Blocks 951 Next Year - Lebron will be the only player in NBA History with a TRIPLE QUINTUPLE....when he gets over 10,000 rebounds and 10,000 assists. And barring injury or another PANDEMIC, in 2.5 years he will be the all time leading scorer in NBA History and if he plays 3.5 years may score 40,000 points Will close with folks been hating on Lebron James for some time now. In 2013 Lebron James was UNANIMOUSLY voted 1st team all defense and March Gasol was voted on the 2nd team all defeense. Guess who the media voted as the DEFNSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR......yes, logically, March Gasol from the 2nd team all defense beat out the UNANIMOUS 1st team selection Lebron James for the DPOY award........if that ain't hate, then I don't know what HATE IS!!!!??? And in many ways....the HATE continues today......(See Documentary commentary and remarks).

Running it back when you're earning 10x more than the next best player is easier said than done. How about you break Pippen some of that bread if winning mattered that much to you? I know someone who took less to win.

Scottie signed a terrible contract that's his fault.

Michael was making a little more than Scottie was during the 90's. Lucky for him his contract wasn't as long and the bulls had to pay him whatever he asked for. So no he couldn't take less to give Scottie more. That's not how contracts work. They could have reworked his contract to do him a favor for his contribution and uplifting that team but they opted not to do so. Sadly there was not arbitration like there is in baseball. Sadly Scottie got conned by a man who's interests were with the organization and not the players. He said it himself, organizations win championships not players.

Im sorry to dissappoint but if NBA history repeated itself except for the Bulls making the finals, theyre not beating the 99 Spurs. One of Chicagos biggest weakeness during that era was mobile big men that could play the 4 and San Antonio had 2 of em. Couple this with an aging core and the high possibility of injuries due to the lockout, No not happening. Look, Father Time is undefeated and the Bulls gracefully bowed out before it could take its last swing.
