I think waiting till you really really like someone puts too much pressure on the situation. The stakes are a lot lower in the beginning. Like on a dating app you don't really even know them. It's not that much pressure as asking out someone you already know in real life who is a part of your life and you're not sure if they like you.

Personally, I think that if you have to consult life decisions such as romantic interests based on KZread videos, you have problems. These people will just give you something on a general note. At the end of the day, you're supposed to be the one having a read on the guy. Do you think he's not initiating because he's not interested or is it because he's the shy type? Or perhaps, not every man should have an interest in you in order for you to have a potential relationship with him, just like how a woman traditionally is. If you think you could win him over and you like him, why not?

Everyone has problems. Not being sure if someone you like likes you back is a problem. People watch (dating) advice videos because we look for solutions to our problems. Some people are focused on finding solutions to problems. That is how we resolve problems. Not every video is going to be equally helpful (this one is not very helpful). But at least it's better than nothing. And sometimes your friends and family give you even shittier advice because they don't know better either. At least when you have more sources of wisdom, you can faster resolve your own problems without relying on others to fix your problems for you.
