Certainly a superb performance, especially from a truly gifted soloist. However, what comes across to me more than anything else is the eternal power, pathos and beauty of the music itself. The second movement especially shows a composer at the full range of his powers as one of the most sublime and gifted of all symphonic composers. Although full of sadness and melancholy, it is forever inspirational music for all generations and eras.

A first movement full of energy, brilliance and clarity. The second one full of elegance. And the Finale full of energy and precision. A great pianist is born!

5:06 i can't put in words how much ectasy produce in me this section, what an amazing feeling of power. Bravo for the pianist, her energy and execution was perfect :)

One of the best performances of this music I ever heard! Anna Tsybuleva is a wonderful pianist and the orchestra is splendid. It also seems as the acoustics in this hall is very good, or is it just the sound technicians that did a very good job?

Und nun stoße ich auf diese Darbietung mit einem Orchester, das nicht gerade unter die berühmtesten gezählt wird, und einer Solistin, von der ich noch nie gehört habe. Und ich bin hingerissen! Besser habe ich Schostakowitschs Nr. 2 bisher nicht gehört, allenfalls anders. Danke, liebe Anna Tsybuleva! Und danke, liebe Wuppertaler!

Shostakovich μεγάλος συνθέτης.Το συγκεκριμένο μέρος andante το έχω ακούσει αρκετές φορές.Σε ταξιδεύει. Περίεργα χρώματα.

Agreed, but that´s how it is in this world. And I dont want to see wonderful Anna Tsybuleva in a reality show. You and I can find her without following the crowd.

You know how I was introduced to this concerto? #Disney's #Fantasia2000! It was the longest of all the segments.

Watching this 3 weeks after HAMAS attacked Israel, watching the world supporting their violence and wondering what they would do to our culture if they had it their way. Shostakovich was a jew btw.

A wonderful performance completely spoilt by a bl***y advert for coffee every few minutes. Would it really be beyond the wit of man to have the adverts at the breaks of the movements?

Пианистка играет прекрасно,но какая ужасная породия выходить на сцену в этих ужасных ковидных масках,какое издевательство над людьми ,бедный народ ,который зависим от правителей.

Какое отвратительное позерство, какое обращение всего внимания на собственную персону. Это не про Шостаковича, это про неё. И главное - у этих позеров все ужимки одинаковые. Даже рукодвижения - эти кривляния руками.

Она прекрасна ❤
