    Stumbled across this older video today and what a beautiful Goldmine of non-pointing ! truly helpful! Looked in your non-duality playlist on the Chanel and did not find it listed there. You may want to put a copy of this video in that playlist. It certainly belongs there! And that seems to be a point of view ha ha.

    The character wants to return to nothingness, and nothingness wants to return to the character. The greatest example of duality is non-duality.

    Aren’t we always in the non dual. Is it a state or is it just being? The experience of nonduality is duality isn’t it? Not being flippant here, you were recently suggested to me. I’ve been working on this crap for 9 years. Seen several recognitions of no doer, no free will and had plenty of wonderful, blissed out, profound moments but there’s always a return to what are sometimes suicidal depressions, pointlessness coupled with nihilism and other such feeling states. My mind has picked up absolutely everything I’ve heard from everyone I’ve listened too. I can talk like I know exactly what I’m talking about, and in moments I do, but nothing linear as of yet. I can chop it up with the best of them and come home to complete pointlessness. I thought it was supposed to make life enjoyable, simpler and easier to recognize no self. I can’t find one of course but it sure feels like there’s a soul or something. I’ve thrown in the towel many times only to be back consuming it all the next morning. 😂😂

    Hey Angelo as you point out, the language of these terms can be confusing and misleading. "We are all one", "True self" "Not separate" etc. My question is: if we aren't separate, why do we not experience all sensations of the entire universe and why do we not have the ability to tap into the experience and mind worlds of other beings? Certainly when there is more clarity of mind, there is more connection and attuning in my experience. But I think the phrase "we are all one" can make me draw conclusions that aren't true...like I have any say over what other people think. Thoughts?

  • @SimplyAlwaysAwake

    @SimplyAlwaysAwake

    2 жыл бұрын

    I wouldn’t say “we are all one” is an accurate representation of nonduality. With the experience of non-dual (no subject-object construct operating) there is not a sense of a bunch of separate beings that are somehow connected. That’s more how the mind imagines it, especially when a phrase like we are all one is considered. With mind-identification it’s not possible for the thought process to perceive non-dual so it extrapolates everything from the view of its own inborn sense of separateness, agency etc. Then it comes up with all kinds of conclusions and questions that just don’t fit the actual experience. Non-dual is more like there is no one else , nor is there a distinct self. There is only this non-locatable environment self responding and self propagation as textures of sense phenomena. It’s not a cognitive or heady experience in any way, it’s just like, “oh no shit… so this is how it is.” And it’s much clearer and self obvious than the minds version of spacial experience. Thanks for the comment.

    Yes that clarifies. That feels more in line with what I'm sensing. I think my mind just really wants my experiences and the philosophy and descriptions I've read to match, because...ego haha. I'm also questioning the nature of stillness and if stillness is inherent to our nature or a result of the mind calmed from identification. Because it seems to fluctuate.

    When you experience all as one there are no other people. : o )

  • @ann337

    @ann337

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@KK-qd6ro it’s so strange, because in the sensory gates there’s just perceiving through the senses (hearing, seeing etc). Hearing is universally applied by the “all” (people) as being this oceanic flow of hearing, not belonging to any separate person. It’s here and we’re all enmeshed in it simultaneously. The same is true for all our senses - we (people) don’t have “my” separate sense of hearing/seeing etc, from “yours”, for arguments sake. There is just simply seeing happening for no one specific. So thinking is also a sensory gate and interestingly, thinking can also be visual and auditory too. It’s so subtle that we don’t notice it as being a filtered sensory perception, like hearing or seeing. Bc it’s abstract, it creates an illusion of ownership, so for eg: I see something in my field of vision like a car, then thoughts arise oh look at my car but it’s just thinking happening and it (thoughts) can even think itself as the I. These are all thought streams flowing through every seeming individual person, but the mind skewers this into a sense of “me”. For eg my dog Zoe doesn’t have this sense of thought based “I”. In fact as far as she’s concerned, she doesn’t have a name or consider herself a dog. She may just exist in free form consciousness, being an expression of whatever that may be. Sorry for the rambling note (bedside reading!☺️)
