Anne Rice turned me onto Blackwood decades ago. I like him very much too and would love to collect some of his really early editions. Did you know that in his last couple of years (1950 ish) he had his own tv show on the BBC reading his stories? There’s a couple of them on KZread. Thanks, Scott!

I did know about the TV shows, and I think a radio series he did as well. He's an interesting writer and supposedly many of his OP novels are very good as well. I love the Ashley bio, you might like it too. s

@@Scottmbradfield I read it years ago and liked it too. I even wrote the author a letter in care to his publisher, but I never heard back.

We might read pointlessly, and it might all be totally meaningless, but it is by no means any accident that you are the man known as MB. Just a heads up, the rumor mill has it that you stand at the top of the list to be our next Right Honourable MB. That's correct, HMRHMB. Try that one on for size, hunh. Hunh!

Great minds Scott. I bought that Alan Moore Swamp Thing set last week when they were two bucks each. They are now ten bucks each. His Batman Killing Joke was pretty terrific if you have not read it yet.

I have a paperback collection from Wordsworth Editions. I must give it a go. Reading a collection called 'Captives' by a little known lady Irish writer called F.D. Sheridan. It's very good. A find from Belfast Central Library.

Blackwood's brand of the supernatural tale might be too gentle & boring for some, but I've always liked him. Saki & Collier......the situations they think up for their short stories are ridiculously funny - even their horror tales have that jittery wit bout them....
