    I frequently am surprised by the number of T1 Mana Crypts/Vaults/Jeweled Lotus/Etc, often multiple. I could play 100 games and not hit this once.

    @@oscher88 I know some KZreadrs allow free mulligans until a good hand is found to make sure the game is exciting. It just seems like a statistical anomaly for T1 Crypt into Vault into Sol Ring into Jeweled Lotus into Mox Diamond into Chrome Mox (with a Gemstone Caverns on the battlefield lol).

    Free mulligans in cEDH? Impossible. That completely bypasses the drawback of building a greedy manabase and gives any storm deck an unfair advantage.

    I run shorikai and was great to see it in today's episode! I might have to add some stax to it. Right now it's set up to try and go with untap effects. Such a fun deck to pilot!!

    He also revealed chain of vapor, so my choice of casting it was the difference of 14 treasures instead of 12. He also revealed a windfall which if he ended up casting, I would then lose the memnite and not casting it would lose me tempo if it did make it back to my turn.

    Noah got targeted hard in that game and rightfully so. At the same time, that heavy focus on him left Ashani free to build his board and defenses to get that easy win.

    To be honest, I think Blind Obedience is still underplayed. It's an outlet for stuff like Scepter or Bomberman while hosing Kiki lines, Dockside ramp and greedy Naus players. Also in a deck like Shorikai playing it as an outlet saves you from running otherwise dead cards like Thoracle.

    @@Xeno-MTG Its mostly because of online mentality when it comes to winning cEDH games. I've seen a *lot* of threads that boil down to if you aren't running the main 2-3 ways of winning the game, its basically garbage and you should stop. That mentality is the thing that is garbage but too many people let it inform their deckbuilding habits in this particular format.

    Yes there is a round of priority after attack are declared, before blocks are declared

    Yeah, the only reason to try a "next level play" and wait until after Blockers would be if you expected a Ninjutsu activation, leaving you to then remove the perfect target when they tap out. But Krark provides so much variance already that you're either asking to get blown out OR potentially leaving free value in copied spells on the table. Or both! Sometimes the first level is best.

    Still trying to figure out the reason for emergence zoning himself at end step rather than just going off in his second main phase. Also still not sure why Noah didnt have the pyroblast target any of the blue permanents and not his own dockside.

    Drannith is a 1 sided stax piece and does not stop you from casting things from anywhere other than your hand, only your opponents.

    Yes, ninjutsu is an ability so you’re not actually casting the card.

    Dranith says “cant CAST spells from anywhere other than hand” - Commander Ninjutsu is not casting, it is *putting* onto the battlefield, thus it dodges Drannith!

    @@PamPamOW too slow, not enough high impact cards. Using thoracle over jace in shorikai when you're running a humility deck. Too many creatures, also not running polymorph or mass polymorph effects which hugely synergize with shorikai as well (even with humility, you can throw in stuff like swift reconfiguration on hullbreaker or tidespout). Also, no mishras workshop for the amount of artifacts you run, or tabernacle.

    Am I the only one who thinks blind obedience shouldn't be allowed to be played in a blue, white deck? No hate to the Shorikai player, he's just following the rules. I just think the rule doesn't make sense.

    It looks weird on the card, but the rule absolutely makes sense. Extort is a keyword and would mean the same if it were standing on its own. Everything in the brackets is reminder text and not really a part of the card's text.
