Shopping at Motorcycle Rally Sturgis 🇺🇸

■ SOUTH DAKOTA, STURGIS: The world's biggest motorcycle rally is held annually in Sturgis South Dakota. Over one million bikers from all over the United States ride to this little town for a week long party every August.
Naturally the sleepy little town swells into a booming marketplace for all kinds of businesses selling interesting t-shirts, unique motorbikes and even weapons. This was a roadtrip slash party slash shopping opportunity I did not want to miss!
To be honest I'd never heard of this annual motorbike rally in Sturgis before it was being slandered in a major Norwegian newspaper that very same week as a horrible Mexican beer plague spreading event! Since most things the media says is bad, is generally quite awesome, I pitched the idea of driving there to Sunil who immediately said: YES LET'S GO THERE!!!
He has been watching videos from this event on KZread for years and has always dreamt of going to see the unique motorcycles on show and for sale. Since Mount Rushmore, like Sturgis, is also in South Dakota, we decided to drive there first before we dove into the epicness that is the main shopping street at the Sturgis rally.

yes, I'm from California (born here, trying to get out) working in construction, managing projects throughout LA/Hollywood. some friend of mine came to visit from Australia and wanted to see Hollywood. I ask them if they are absolutely sure. they said yes. so we get off the highway/freeway, and the first thing they see is a homeless guy rubbing one out staring at the cars on the offramp. and i told them (that right there, pretty much sums up Hollywood. Drugs, homeless, dirty, nasty, degenerate, and nothing is pleasant about it (except for the food, if you want to pay the Hollywood premium). as a side note, while driving out one of my jobs, in Korea town (near/in LA) this lady that was walking, just stopped, dropped her pants, took a shit on the sidewalk, pulled up her pants and kept walking... people were walking right by her as she did this without even second guessing it.

People talk a lot of trash about the US, and much about how the system works is true, but on the other hand, you can't really say anything unless you've actually been there and to different states and places. I live in Norway, and I've been to the US many times mostly in California, and the sheer amount of things to do, explore and experience blows me away every time. No matter how many times I go, there's always something new. Entering the US, for me it's like visiting another world. I can't blame Americans for not travelling too much-there is enough to see just within the USA. The people are very creative and have a different way of thinking, and they're more open and social than anywhere else I've ever been. And don't be like some of my arrogant Norwegian/European friends who go to NYC or Miami once and think they've seen it all. Visit the country, because it's truly amazing.

Europe dont have free health care cos you pay your health care through freakin high tax and they make you wait for forever to see the doctor except you have terminal ill or accident which is would never happen in the US. Education? Common man! If yoy graduate from the US then you can work wherever in the world base on your education major but you cant just work in the US if you graduate from Europe use the same case. @@duncang01 I wish I could my friend. Most Americans don't know how good they've got it until and unless they've ventured into the 3rd world. I went to college in the Midwest and I would give anything to be back, but times have changed and I'm left with but a few glorious memories from the past. Protect your 1st amendment with your life buddy, where I come from free speech gets you killed. God bless the United States of America. As a person of color who had the absolute priviledge of calling the land of the free home for three years, I miss her very much. Godspeed brother. Protect our great nation with everything you've got. In my experience racism exists everywhere on earth and it's not neccasarily a white and black thing, it goes in all directions, but in America, as long as you are a patriot, you'll be okay. You are lucky to be born free brother.

I usually tour with a group and have always stayed at the Hog Haven Camp Ground. If ya’all go back to Sturgis check out the back roads like Needles Highway, Cluster State park,Spearfish Canyon, Keystone, Iron Mountain and DeadWood. All beautiful rides /drives. I like Sturgis, but it’s the same when you’ve gone so many times…I go for the scenic rides that are just breathtaking! TFS
