Great practical review of the YES Welder, but what really impressed me were the architectural-quality hinges you made for the A/C House. One thing you probably want to add to the A/C House is a couple of louvers: not only do you need a way for air to get into the compressor, but you will also need a way for cool air to get in and hot air to get out of the house. Free standing in the shop this isn't a problem, but in a small enclosure you may run into problems.

I love all the welding tips, since I'm a complete novice at welding. My dad tried teaching me how to weld once when I was a kid, but after I stuck the stick in the puddle twice he just gave up. I'd love to win the welder. :) I also really love your hinges. Those things are *such* overkill for that little shack, but they're fantastic workmanship! Thanks for showing us the build process for that thing.

Great build. Compressor closet looks great. I don’t want the welder personally, but if I won it I would give it to someone whom I know needs it. It would help him greatly to get his blacksmith business off the ground. Thanks for sharing.

I have been thinking about one of these welders. More now that someone unbiased has given a review. I would look forward to trying it on 220 volts.
