Superb photos! Huge fan of the light leaks…when they work in your favor, it’s just added character in my book. Definitely feeling inspired to try more self portraits now!

Ohh sweet, glad this could spark some inspiration!🤗 And yes, I also like those that are in my favor. I think I tend to like them more once some time passes. At first I disliked them, because they were against my expectation and what I was aiming for. But after some time I seem to mentally open up to the possibility of having these extra colours and lights and I now think some are really cool!🤗 Anyway, thanks for the kind comment! :)

The hills are alive with the sounds of camera timers! ;) Great video! Love the morning sun, tried getting to the ocean one day before sunrise, it was a race with the sun, the sun won, but i did get some shots with the early sun colour. Thanks for sharing!

This video was so fun! Always nice to play with a new camera (even if it suffers from light leaks) I think the light leaks actually worked pretty well with most of the self-portraits you took! The sunrise light and the colors in the light leaks match pretty well!

Well, it looks like a lightleak at first glance, but maybe it is a defective shutter. If one of the curtains stucks, it looks like a local overexposure.

You think? Would the effect not be consistent throughout the photos then? I tested the shutter before using it though.. "testing" being simply watching it open and close haha. But thanks for the tip anyway!🤗

Looks like you had a lot of fun! I am personally not a fan of light leaks, however. I would bet that your light seals need replacing. You can purchase the kits online or take your camera to a good film SLR camera repair shop and have them replace your light seals for you.

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!🤗 Haha yes, I've got a roll of Portra400 waiting for some attention and I recently bought my first ever roll of CineStill 800T. :)

I felt that... Luckily you only had light leaks... But I realized that my shutter did not open on any of my photos beside 1... so almost the whole roll was lost :(( I was sad af. Beautiful shots!

i wish i could go to places like these.

These photos are nice, it's such a shame about that light leak. You were brave testing Portra on a new camera! I've just got a new film camera and the best it's getting is a 24 exp roll of HP5 to see if it's a dud or not...

Nice film photography journey. Suggestions on light leak: buy a light seal foam of ebay or ceaft store and glue the foam around the edges of the lid.

Man I gotta shoot some self portraits cuz I have like 2.5 friends

First off, love the content as always Teo, great work! Second, I'm new to the film photography world, and I get kinda nervous/anxious when I take photos of people's houses and/or cars. Is this normal? Any advice?

Yeees that's normal I think... at least I can relate🤷🏻‍♂️ I especially get nervous when photographing homes, because I feel a bit intrusive. "If they'd see me they'd think I'm a stalker or something" kind of thoughts circle in my mind. I can't really give you advice... I just push through and try not to think about it😅 May the force be with you, young shooter🙏🏼

Great video as always! I'm sorry because pictures are ruined by lightleaks... I love these behind the scenes type of videos because I like to observe the workflow. Also, wanted to ask, how do you decide where you will shoot? what do you take in account before deciding? Also, I got old Kiev 4AM camera as a present, so I can't wait to go out for a shoot. Did you had any experience with rangefinder cameras before and can you give me some tip? Thanks in advance!

Thank you, glad you enjoyed it!🤗 Ahh not too bad, luckily most are still pretty cool and only a few actually got ruined🤷🏻‍♂️ I mostly just scout locations on Google Maps. I can switch between satellite view and topographic view, which helps me spot hills like in this video. The satellite view is usefull to scout the terrain, whether there's a forest or fields etc. And the most important thing I take in account is simply the weather :) Ohh cool, I hope you get to go soon!🤩 I believe my Olympus XA3 counts as a rangefinder, but I can't really give any tips on that.. it's just a simple camera🤷🏻‍♂️

Beautiful pics! Just curious to know if you exposed the roll normally or if you shot it at 400 ISO

Around 7:11 Teo says something about changing the shutter speed so I reckon he sets the ISO to the box speed and pushes/pulls the exposure with the shutter speed.

Maybe get a little closer for the portrait shots. Nice to see who the subject is. Thanks for an interesting video.

Hey there! I just found your channel two days ago and I’ve watched almost each one! I’ve finally got to a point in my life where I’m no longer living paycheck to paycheck and can enjoy my time. Buying a camera next month but I’m so overwhelmed with the choices! Everyone keeps telling me to get a Nikon z50 since I’m a beginner but I have my heart set on a film camera. Hopefully I’ll find a few inexpensive ones from my local Goodwill Store this weekend to practice! Did you start off with digital or film? Sorry if you already covered it in a video- I have a few more left to watch :)

Teo, aren't these light leaks due to the film passing through some X-Ray on its way to you? Have you tried using another roll of lower ISO film on this camera to see if that's the problem? I had the same problem with a Portra 800 with a camera I use regularly

Man just invest in sealing your camera. What's the point shooting expensive film if all of them are ruined by these leaks. They can look artistic but you cant control them and they just appear in the middle of the frame.

Maybe you didn’t notice, but this was my first shoot with this camera😅 I didn’t know it had this issue
