And you're so impressed by her behaving in a way that no one should need to be praised for? That's NORMAL behavior, such low standards you have. I'm guessing your little monsters are the kind I get stuck having to listen to throw a tantrum while I'm waiting in line at the post office or the grocery store.

You are impressed that a small child would be calm under those conditions but in fact it's more likely for her to, first of all, kids not much smaller than that eat bugs because they don't know any better after all, the things that gross you out or horrify you aren't going to have that effect on a toddler. And secondly the impression I got was that she had absolutely zero empathy for the cat. Notice she wasn't even petting Miss Kitty to comfort her. All these comments praising the little girl for being so cute or brave and they don't realize that kids that age are by their nature selfish little solipsist monsters. She wasn't keeping a straight face because she was so mature or mentally strong, she did it because she is indifferent to the suffering of the cat.

I think it's normal for a child that age not to have much sympathy and as she matures she'll develop it. Clearly her father is teaching her animal care and responsibility and with those will come maturity. She's good by me.

the little girl's input on the matter was very insightful and very necessary.

I commend him too. I rescue only older cats, the ones ppl don't want. My brother & sister cats both passed this past year, both getting cancer at separate times, both 13. They were what is called a "bonded pair"..soulmates. I gave them the best years possible in their older life.

I love the name Ms. Kitty. Hilarious having the vet include the Ms. with her name.

You sure that's the right characterization? He waited until the botfly or whatever it is (not sure that's a botfly, they shouldn't be that big) got THAT HUGE, and until his cat's weight got down to THREE POUNDS before he brought her to the vet. Oh sure he sounds responsible all right. How LONG was Miss Kitty suffering between the 2 maladies with his obliviousness to them? But yeah, the cat was sure compliant through that ordeal. Maybe she was so weak that she didn't have the energy to resist either way or she knew they were helping her, or a bit of both.

cheyenne seems to be very well behaved and mature, kudos to her parents

At least the kid is more well behaved than the one in princess in peril

Miss Kitty is so lucky to be part of such a sweet family and their daughter is one of the most beautiful little girls ever. She will be stunning when she gets older but her kind heart will outshine everything.

I had a cat that made it 20 years before going down the hill. His name was Clyde. Great cat to the end, I just hated to put him down. But it was his time. Still miss that kitty.

@@MEGAF00T The difference is that you as a human got it taken care of promptly because it was painful and had the means to fix the problem, whereas the cat suffered wordlessly for a long time with nothing she could do about it giving it time to grow.

I had a cat once who lived to be at least 17... She started to lose a lot of weight like this cat, but before we could take her to a vet she ran away. Maybe she could have had a few more years but she decided she was ready to pass away. Love you Izabelle, may you chase mice in heaven ♥

Dr. Brenda & Dr. Pol are great. Been following the clinic since Charles was young First saw them years ago on TV. Now only have the cell phone working. Lucked up on finding them on KZread. The 2 in house female doctors are expressive as well. Thank ya'll for taking care or the animals. Fur-babies are part of families. GOD BLESS!

Awww the little girl has to be about the cutest ive seen in awhile! I hope Ms Kitty gets better. We had a cat named Ms Kitty when my girls were little. My middle daughter adored her so much!!!!!

My cat was 16 when he was diagnosed with the hyperactive thyroid. He's 17 now, and we have to give him a pill everyday with special food. For a while we gave the thyroid health food for him until we took him to the vet again to make sure his thyroid was balancing out. Now since his kidneys are weaker we give him the kidney health with thyroid medicine so that hopefully his kidneys don't stop working.

My mom's friend's old cat was diagnosed with hyperactive thyroid. Unfortunately she had to put her to sleep, she was 17.

that girl is smart. I have an overactive thyroid and it causes me a lot of weight problems.. it honestly sick because sometimes I get so skinny that I have to go to the hospital

Besides, who's to say she didn't pet her off-camera? And like I also said, not every little kid is a monster, it mostly just comes down to how they're raised.

She's tiny to start with though so it's not quite as scary as if she was a bigger cat. But hopefully the pills helped her put on some weight.

I was thinking the same thing, I wouldn't have thought it was physically possible for a fully grown cat to be that emaciated. I found a kitten that was hurt once and she was 4 pounds and she was obviously a kitten. To think this cat is even lighter than that. Poor baby must have been suffering for so long to get like that!

It’s a theoretical sound concept for getting a cat to take medicine. They clean themselves like mad, so if you pour medicine on them, they would lick it off. Dosing would be dicey, though.

Cheyenne is a smart girl. I can see her as a vet someday.
