**Shocking** Selfish Driver Refuses to Move for Rescue 1 Because They Were “Waiting for a Spot”!

Фильм және анимация

A Driver Refuses to move for FDNY Rescue 1 as they arrive on the scene of a fire.
At a fire, Rescue 1 is tasked with Rescuing both civilians and firefighters who may become trapped, making it crucial that they arrive quickly and not be slowed down in any way by drivers. This driver can be seen waiting for a spot in front of a hydrant while Engine 53 Arrives at the scene of the fire. Rescue 1 then arrives and proceeds to pull up behind the vehicle, intending to find a safe and easy way for their firefighters to exit their rig without blocking traffic or getting hit by a car. The driver first waits for a passenger and then appears to consider taking the parking spot. After I stopped filming I asked the man why he didn’t move and gave him a quick lecture on how drivers are supposed to pull away from emergency vehicles. One firefighter, who I know personally, was injured in the fire and transported to the hospital. This video should prove to be a good learning experience for drivers, NEVER BLOCK EMERGENCY VEHICLES!

    The massive bumpers are to protect the occupants in that truck in case it is involved in a traffic accident reguardless of who is at fault according to FEMA...FIRE EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURES ASSOCIATION.

    I was in the London Fire Brigade from 1975 until 2005. During that time if any driver did not move their vehicle after being warned 3 times when a Fire Engine was on call, then it was shunted out of the way. We had massive bumpers on our machine which were perfect for the job.

    Some firefighters in Switzerland once pushed a Ferrari (or some other super expensive car) out of the way, because it blocked the access to a fire hydrant. The car was badly damaged and the owner sued the department, but obviously got nowhere with that. It was all over the news. The REALLY sad part is, how a large part of the public took the car owners side...

    In the usa the fire dept bills the owner and wins all damage they do to thier own trucks. Doesn't matter if its a false alarm or not. Tho it could be argued, and prolly has a few court cases, where the false alarm caller gets sued because it is indeed a felony.

Be like the majority of society and mourn your loss without inconveniencing everyone else trying to go about their business. I care about your loved one dying as much as you would care about me dying. Sure, we say "it sucks", but that's about it and we keep moving along. Motorcades are way more obnoxious than a rude driver, especially in places like NY or Los Angeles...

Lady in her SUV stops in front of it to run into the supermarket to buy something! A bunch of us, doing our laundry are yelling at her to MOVE HER DAMN CAR! but she wasn’t interested. I told her, on her way back out a few minutes later, that I hoped it was HER house burning! Meanwhile, a more thoughtful driver, across the street, who had also been double parked, ran outside when he realized what was going on and jumped in his car to let the fire engine through. It’s against the law to block a pump, or stand in the way of an emergency vehicle weather is a fire truck or ambulance. When it comes to first responders attending an emergency call in the need the space closest to park, and save lives, your only response should be to get out their way!! Nothing else matters but letting these men and women get to that life that needs help. “Because today is somebody else being saved, but tomorrow it could be you”

There have been similar cases in the UK of emergency services using people's private driveways with the owner responding saying "I don't care, it isn't my emergency" which he has every right to say, if it was a parking space on the street that would be different, but using driveways on property is out of line. There's also no respect to the public who could also be having their own life or death emergency in which they get in the way, but the emergency services have tunnel vision seemingly to the call out they are doing and everything else doesn't matter.

    In this day we can’t offend that driver. If they want to park there they earned the right to park there just because they breath air. The horns on the fire truck could cause the driver great pain and suffering and they could have to deal with PTSD for the rest of their life. We as public officials, we need to ask the driver how they feel and give them all the assistance the law allows and then some. Instead of judging maybe a hug would be in order. Well, this driver seemed to be trying to move off the road. He was pulled to the right side of the road and stopped. Then when the truck started honking, he tried to pull into a parking space (further off the road). I can’t see why the truck didn’t just park behind the car and let everyone out 30 seconds sooner.

    When I was a Police Officer, the Fire Brigade turned up at a job. They needed access to a fire hydrant. I'm sure not many people have bothered to remember their Highway Code. There is always a sign either on a wall or a pole adjacent to a hydrant. There is a large 'H' on the sign and two figures. One denotes the size of the pipe either in inches or centimetres. The second figure denotes the distance of the hydrant from the sign. Often, the lid to the hydrant is painted yellow. So, makeover a hydrant at your peril. On this occasion, retirement smashed in the door to the car so that he could fit the cap to the hydrant and undo it. Try claiming from the Fire service. You'll not win!

An engine company comes in with hose so they will park closer to the front. Ladder trucks will do the same.

    They can't do that to an occupied vehicle. Why? Simply because the fire engine is such a powerful machine. If the fire department causes injury to someone inside a vehicle because they rammed it, that's called vehicular assault. Even first responders must abide by the law. An empty vehicle is fair game.

    The fact that people were trapped in the building that was on fire and the status of them was unknown, yet the driver still has the nerve to wait for a parking spot shows how disgusting society can be

  • @KathrynsWorldWildfireTracking

    @KathrynsWorldWildfireTracking

    Society is not disgusting. A certain percentage of humans are born with the *inability* to feel empathy. These are called Personality Disorders. They include: Sociopaths, Psychopaths, and Narcissists. Narcs are the usually "non-violent" ones - think "psychopath-lite." They'll do outrageously-selfish stuff - every minute of their lives. Those with these disorders cause the most harm to other humans on the planet. Yet - they make up a small % of people. They just repeat their behavior - and will get away with it until society wisens-up. So far - society is. Narcs are understood as "Karens" now. Close - but no cigar. Narcs come in male/female, all shapes, sizes, ethnicities, cultures and colors. Like I said, a certain % are born that way. Being ruthless - allows them to rise to positions of power. Once you realize it's "Them" causing 99% of the world's cruel problems...you can have legit, logical faith in humanity again. (Edit: They are sick. If you judged all dogs by the ones with rabies - you'd have the wrong idea of dogs, wouldn't you?)
