Anyone else think the description didnt at all match what happened? The leg was still it for the uchi mata. Just look like he was able to unwind against the throw, a very good counter but not a kick the leg free and then pick up from body lock.

lol it looks like the person doing uchi just didn't have arm control and couldn't rotate his opponent's body, rather than the receiver countering the throw

Was just thinking the same. Looked like they landed on the mat, not the concrete, and even if they did, I highly doubt the concrete was about to break lol. Reminds me of getting in a fight in school when younger and by end of the day, when someone would tell me what they heard, it would be so far from the truth. There was 3 huge guys and one had a knife etc lol. Happens with all stories.

@@yyyyy962 yea. Too bad he has such low self esteem lol. Could really hold him back if he doesn't get some confidence.

Weird Al Yankovic is a ref at ADCC?

What on earth is the referee doing to allow the competitors to tear up the officiators table? 😂 Is this normal in BJJ? Matte would have been called a long time ago in judo. Especially before both parties left the mat!

its pretty normal and most competitors prefer it to be somewhat uninterrupted, a lot of time when someones winning out youd see the one getting beat flee out to reset and youd get multiple resets until they felt they were winning, if it feels safe enough they usually let them continue but that was a somewhat extreme example, luckily everything seemed to work out fine. the throw was already performed though and no sense in letting it go to waste. So they probably waited to see how they'd finish/capitalize on the throw for a second. Still good practice to avoid these situations and stay in the arena. Maybe as we see more throws the mats will be expanded outside of the zone to be safe. rn its 10x10 maybe they should make it 15x15 with a 10x10 zone or even 12x12.

Actually happens quite a bit. Depending on the situation and positions. If somewhat safe, they'll let it continue till there's some break in the action or a position is established so they can reset.

@@ZeusEBoyno matter what size mats are used, this will still happen. 2 guys in the finals of adcc and end up on all 3 mats. Like practice, no matter how much room there is, everyone still ends up rolling over and bumping into each other. Think someone called it jiu-jitsu gravity. It's a weird thing lol.
