It was a great trick but you need to pay attention to the instructions properly for it to work. If you got it wrong that means you weren't paying attention.

I saw him in Vegas. He opened with this trick. I followed his instructions thoroughly, but it didn't work. After that, I didn't really care for any of the tricks that followed. The connection was lost. He's clearly talented, and I followed this video, and this trick worked this time. But he didn't WOW me when it was live. His featured guest, Collin Cloud, a mentalist magician, did. That guy was really amazing. With all due respect to Shin Lim, I would only recommend Unlimited for Cloud.

You have 8 cards. You are putting the ‘one’ on the bottom. You are swapping cards 1-5, leaving #8 alone or putting in the MIDDLE, again leaving the bottom alone. Then you putting on bottom/throwing over shoulder all until your left with the ONE on the bottom which of course matches the other half in your pocket.

It is amazing. It is a trick that anyone can perform after watching it. The maths of 1333 audience and 8 cards giving 8455😁 is very funny, though. More so, times 3,000,000 giving 8million etc is ridiculous😀. It didn't take it out of the trick, tho

For putting it in the middle does it have to be exactly in the middle like same cards from top and bottom or can it be just in between

There’s not that much math going on and it’s not very complicated. The part when Shin says to put three cards in the middle - he says it’s random, but it’s not. That move guarantees that the top and bottom card will be a match. You put the top card in your pocket, then all the subsequent moves are just switching cards and putting them in the middle, which maintains the bottom card position. Btw, he stole this exact trick from Penn and Teller.

@@MD-br2my a magic trick is good when it is seemingly a true miracle and an average person has no idea of how the heck it works. But this one is just about following precise hand motions and there's no real secret to it.
