    With that technology on the yak do you consider dropping a big plastic to the bottom to bounce around under the bust ups? It's a popular option in lake Macquarie and Port stephens, many a Pb flathead, snapper and jewfish has been caught like this....adds another layer to the excitement having the heavy rod scream off whilst panicked about the sambo or tailor just hooked on the light gear. Great content mate 👍

    Yes its a great comment you make, I have often caught big snapper when chasing schools of salmon. I believe the snapper come in to feed on the salmon whilst the salmon are rounding up all the bait fish. During this session I saw a few massive arches holding under the bait and one of the blokes on the boat swears he saw a king fish rounding them up. So in hindsight throwing out a 7 or 9 inch plastic may have been worth a shot.

    Yep it sure has been a tough couple of months fishing, the water temp is rising and only a matter of weeks now before its consistently fishing really well. Bring on the snapper !!

    Huge schools around ATM! My heart is pounding with excitement I was out today on a school for 45min an because I could see them I made it more intense same thing fish a cast so unbelievable, fishing cures my depression! I really appreciate this video for that fact that I was able to relive my experience through your video catching these beautiful arripus trutta. Sick fun

    Nothing as a stella. Used the Fj for 20 years since I was 8yrs until it broke. I bought myself a new C3000 FK as my own Christmas gift for trout, pike and atlantic salmon. Can't wait to unpack it at in a couple of days and test it on the waters.

    Hi Alan fantastic footage I got onto a school of Salmon when I went to Merimbula this year in June the size I got where 57 cm massive fish 🐟 very strong fighters in NSW the salmon limit is 5 . Was this footage of Altona ? Cheers Phil

    Wow Alan that fight was an epic one. Who knows it was a king fish???I'm sorry that you lost that big fish. That's the reason why I go fishing a bit heavy say using a 8 pound braid and 10 pound leader, just in case......😉😉😁🤗👋👋💪💪🤙🤙

    Thanks Mario, Yeah i agree 100%. Ive been fishing a tad heavier since i dropped that fish. That day there was an avalanche of small pinkies so went ultra light but that's the risk when the big one comes through.

    Thanks yeah it was a crazy good session. I run 2 FPV batteries, one 50 a/ph dedicated to the trolling motor and one 12 a/ph dedicated to the sounder. My sessions on the water can be anywhere from 3 hours to 8 hours and im yet to run out of power yet. I never troll lures and have the motor on all the time so couldn't say for sure the total run time on the trolling battery if it was running the whole time.

    Hey Alan,,,,,, I've got a question for you on your trolling motor pwm speed controller do you have a PWC cut off switch like on the jet ski if you fall off ,,,,,,so the ,,,,,trolling motor stops if the tethered Lanyard is pulled

    Yep 100% i also have fitted a magnetic kill switch which I tie to my leg, even though its slow if I fall off the motor will cut off straight away.

    The NSW limit is 5! So fish in Victoria, register your caravan there as it’s $80 there, $500+ in the ACT, but you can keep your crappy speed enforcement limits 😂

    I lost my usual berkely collapsible telescopic net a few weeks back at Albert Park, shattered as it was a great one. The one I have know is a berkley one, its got a 50cm handle length which i feel is a about 20cm to short even though its perfectly fine.

    Nope its brilliant, with line management and wind knots. The infinity loop stuff they have on the reel is next level.

    Greedy cocky salmons. when I clean them most of the time guts are full of baitfish and they still trying to swallow hole lures. Good work!

    Yes 100% ive had mixed results with it. Last month i caught a nice 5 kilo snapper using A large strip of snook which is very similar, but I have found more consistent catches with some of the other strip baits

    There ok mate. Make great fish cakes. Ok crumbed. Good sized fillets. There are a lot better fish so that's why they are not really targeted except for sport.

    Really depends on who you ask. Many will say they are wonderful to eat if bled quickly and cooked properly. I tend to use them for snapper and gummy shark bait.

    Can I ask, whether using a kayak v land based fishing would increase my catch rate. I'm a bit anti fish finders but would like to know if I would up my catch rates which are pretty near zero at the moment. Cheers...love your channel.

    Yes they sure do. Put them on ice straight away. Then when you get home either separate in bags and freeze or cryovac them which works great.
