Nice review - thanks! I am thinking about buying a grip like that ... will the Snapgrip fit on an iPhone 13 Mini or is it too big for the phone?

Thanks - the phone you see in this video is a 13 Mini so will work just fine

When you test the connection strength the phone in a case it looks like you aren't using a MagSafe compatible case.

You’re right. It was just a regular one. At that point, MagSafe cases weren’t easily available for iPhone 13 Mini in NZ.

Love this review. I have a similar grip and everywhere I go. People ask me where I got it. It actually helps me keep the camera aligned with the horizon versus using my phone without it.

Thanks - I do kind of like it, though the ShiftCam version is a tad overpriced I think. But if you can get a deal on it, it's great

Looks like an interesting device, how does it work, what connections does it have between the grip and phone, how does the shutter button operate the phone??

Magsafe connection with the phone, and bluetooth shutter connection

Hoping in the future Shiftcam uses the exact same Bluetooth equipment in the SnapGrip that they do in the ProGrip. I purchased both. The Bluetooth works flawlessly on the ProGrip, but the grip is really large and bulky. The Bluetooth on the SnapGrip sucks to be honest. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. Some days I love it, and some days I want to throw it in the trash.

Thanks for the interesting insight. I've not had a problem with the snapgrip bluetooth ... so far. But I don't have any experience of the ProGrip - looked too bulky for my style of shooting

Hello, can you tell me if there is a delay between pressing the physical button on the grip and taking the photo? I bought a no-brand model on Amazon, and when you press the button, there is a one-second delay before the photo is taken.

I’ve not experienced that length of delay. A tiny gap, yes - but it’s never got in the way of what I intended to capture

Any advantage of this over many similar items for less than half the price (MagSafe specifically)

I don't really know - I haven't needed to try any other than this and my gimbal. Both work well. But, yes - others are cheaper, especially since the time I made this video

I have one and it is a pretty unremarkable product, the only control you have is shutter. The charging of your phone isn't that great and can overheat the phone. Also the snapgrip loses it's charge over a short period of time. Does not work well as a stand either, tends to easily fall over like a weeble. Don't waste your money.

Doesn’t fall with my 13 Mini as it has a low centre of gravity compared to a large screen phone. Shutter control photo and video trigger recording depending on your mode. Charging is fine but is not ‘smart’ charging so yes, you need to watch overheating. Haven’t found mine losing charge. But your experience is yours.

The MagBak case should work like a charm.

Kind of different so not really comparable. Progrip is bigger, heavier and meant for more intense photography / videography. Snap grip is much lighter touch but maybe won;t have quite such an immersive experience / feel. Really depends on what you are after.

It’s very easy to separate because the magnets are not strong. Risking your iphone

@@TheTechPacker I tried with their case for the 14 pro max, because I want to use their lenses. It's a terrible grip and the case broke apart. Its a terrible design

@@JosePintoRibeiro They don’t make a case for the 13 Mini so I didn’t try that. Though from what I saw, it didn’t look like the best case - i think it was a 13 case that I saw. I wouldn’t pair this grip with a large phone plus their lenses - that would be too heavy I think. And definitely not a case with any phone - my 13 mini is small and light compared to a larger phone. The grip didn’t cope with smaller phone with a regular case.

If you’re going to review electronics, learn to pronounce what mAh (milliamp hour)
