Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

I like the lack of ridicule because so many products marketed to the general public were probably originally invented for niche markets: the Snuggie for wheelchair users, one-handed can openers for amputees, electric pepper grinders for people with arthritis, etc.

This is one of those products that you pretty much know if it is for you before buying. Since it does everything it claims and looks to be good quality it seems like a good product. Not for me but honestly if I was going on a vacation or to an event I knew I wanted to take a lot of looking up shots this looks tempting. Airshows, places you want to take a lot of ceiling shots like a Church, a city with tall buildings, etc.

I have a DSLR and a similar grip. Even smaller. Fits in your pocket. That's the selling point. You don't want to carry a DSLR all the time. These grips weigh next to nothing. You have your phone with you anyway. My grip also has a mini tripod and a detachable button that acts as a remote shutter release. Put your phone on a wall and take a selfie or be in a group shot.

  • @Freakinreviews

Yeah besides the feel of the grip and shutter, there isn't much about this that screams "DSLR" to me.

I don't think it's intended to mimic a full DSLR camera. It just converts your phone into something with a more comfortable grip with a DSLR style. If you plan on doing a lot of video and/or pics that day, this might be a way to go. .

The native image stabilization is doing 99% of the heavy lifting during those tests, might be a better test in the future to turn off stabilization and see if the product, by itself, improves stabilization. Overall a good review.

It doesn't really and it's not supposed to. It's not a gimbal. And even gimbals can't really compensate foot steps very well. That's why you have to do the ninja walk.

  • @sondosoft4603

    @sondosoft4603

Yeah but at that point, you sort of just have to throw in the towel and say actual improved stabilization is just not something this provides. Because nobody turns off stabilization in everyday life. Only point you could make is that it feels more stable, which you’d hope it would.

I think you missed the boat on this product. Yes, there is little difference between the shots you took with and without the SnapGrip. Where I find the grip most useful, yes I own one, is on long days of photography. If I just need to snap a quick photo I don’t waste my time with the grip but if I’m shooting dozens or hundreds of photos over the period of a day the grip is more comfortable over the long haul.

I bought a similar product about 5 years ago - gave it a fair shot, but at the end of the day I just couldn't feel I needed it. I felt the benefits were minimal, and for that I had to carry an extra item with me. I would not say it's useless or that nobody could find it very useful - the detachable exposition button, for example - I just couldn't fall in love with it, no matter how hard I tried. Even though it had no technical hiccups, worked fine and it did everything it said on the box. Just a tad too much hassle for too little gain for me. (Should be noted that although my model back then was significantly cheaper, it had no magnetic feature and a built in battery/charging feature.)

The back is from hasselblad (sp?) And is fun to use for some photography. I'm still sad Motorola abandoned the Z line for boring sameyness of the other phone companies!

The advantages of a dslr are the ability to change the iso, shutter speed, aperture, interchangeable lenses ect ect ect so a grip will not fix that. But as a person with thousands and thousands of dollars invested in dslr equipment this provides an entirely different benefit. Something like this you can carry around with you everwhere and use your phone as a point and shoot street photography camera to scout locations and subjects you might want to come back to later. Also as an artist it’s nice to take reference photos on the fly.

Another thing is that I never hold my phone near the bottom. No matter if I'm in portrait or landscape. It's always near the middle. I do that 'cause it doesn't feel top heavy and I'm closer to the volume buttons that I use to take the pics and video. That might be why I feel like this grip would make it harder for me to keep the phone more steady 'cause I would have to be holding from the bottom area of the which is not what I normally do 'cause that has always been uncomfortable for me and far away from the volume buttons. Maybe it's good for people that hold their phone in the bottom area when using the camera. It just seems that for people that don't, then it would be more top heavy for us.

I feel like this is for people who have never used a DSLR. Your phone already takes professional-level photos. I’m a photographer and I struggle with judging people who take photos on my level with their phone, lol. I do also use my phone sometimes, though, if I just need something easy. I bought some $5 little lenses with little clips for fish-eye/wide-lens effects, which work great. In the end, if I turn off my gatekeeping, the important thing is that people can capture what they want in the way they intended.

I've watched a lot of your videos now, and they're great reviews. I just felt compelled to say, after you mentioned that you don't do sponsored posts, that I honestly wouldn't mind if you did so long as you were open about it from the start. That said, and perhaps this is one of the reasons you're proud to say you don't do sponsored videos, it could affect the genuineness of your reviews even if that's not what you intend, so I applaud your decision to not go down that route. I guess, another point, is that I subscribe to your channel because you review products that are affordable to your average joe and your budget is probably limited for that reason. If you were to start reviewing ridiculously expensive products, sponsored or not, I'd be less interested and would probably unsubscribe.

Holding down the button on the snapgrip to start recording video while you’re in camera mode, is NOT a feature of the snapgrip. You can do that without snapgrip or anything. Just hold down the button on the phone in camera mode, it’ll do the same thing. It’s a cool feature where you can have audio playing like Spotify, and it’ll capture whatever you’re listening too in the video while holding down the button to record.

I love your channel and appreciate all your reviews. When the video first started I saw no reason for this product and I still see no benefit for this product, I use my phone to produce content for my channel, and this product would not help me. My volume buttons are set to engage photos and video, so there is no problem for me holding my phone and taking video/photos. The price is too far out of range for any perceived benefit. You might wonder 'If you can not use this product, why write so much?" Because every comment benefits the channel and someday AI will read our comments and might weigh the quality of the statement to better engagement to the channel.

I love the idea. I have very shaky hands so the extra grip would be nice. For $70 though? 😬 I'll have to pass.

The iPhone test was okay, but I would like to see this tested on an android phone, especially a Samsung.

Your park video seemed to take odd jumps while panning. Is that a quirk of the iPhone camera?

I own Sony cell phones exclusively. And one of my favorite features of them is they still have a physical button to snap the shutter or start recording a video. It makes a huge difference as far as stability goes. (And their phones take pictures that blow iPhone out of the water)

Other phone brands have physical buttons for shutter also, generally the volume button.

At the risk of blowing some minds, when the camera app is open on any iPhone the volume buttons become shutter control buttons.

The integrated stabilization makes the pan look like crap. That's not your or the grips fault but the image stabilization. If possible you should try without IS just to see if the snap grip makes that a viable mode. That said in most day use I prefer image stabilization as videos often get horribly shaky without it. But when it craps on you it can get pretty bad.

This solves a problem I never knew existed and for $70? I guess it's true that there really is a market for anything...
