That dog is covered in rippling muscles. He is perfectly healthy, unlike the overweight dogs you are clearly accustomed to seeing. Pets across the world are suffering from an epidemic of obesity. The epidemic is so wide spread that when people like yourself see a healthy fit dog, they think something is wrong with it, when in reality it is in perfect health and excellent condition. We need to STOP normalizing obesity in our pets! Overeating reduces a dog's life by as much as 2 or 3 years on average! Being fat is not "cute" and it is DEFINETLY not healthy!

I wonder if that's why my german shepherd husky mix looks way younger than her age. she has complete control on how much she eats/drinks and is good at managing that, and she has 24 access to a decent backyard and regularly runs back and forth when dogs get walked past our house. we sometimes board dogs and she's good with the tiniest of dogs and the strongest of dogs.

@@Fallen4242again, you are so accustomed to fat dogs that you simply don't know what healthy looks like. Most people in developed countries are just like you. They have never seen an underweight dog in their life! Every dog they have ever seen in person ranges from slightly overweight to morbidly obese. Emaciated dogs aren't covered in rippling muscles. The fact that you think seeing a dog's muscle definition means it's fat, only further proves my point.

No hours of suffering through agonizing poison, no struggling under some bird of prey that'll hold you with a vice grip and shred you alive, no inexperienced cat playing with its food. @@CleverGirlAAH there is one video (might be on the member’s channel iirc) about Joe looking over the dogs for injuries, but it was much more of a maintenance thing than anything else (at least that’s the impression that I got). I would actually be interested to see how the dogs are fed! Do they eat together, and how does Joe make sure they’re getting balanced nutrition / what all do they eat besides raw meat? I’m sure they’re more than covered nutritionally, there’s just different ways of supplementing raw and I’m curious to know how Joe goes about it! I think many people would definitely be interested in feeding videos, although dog diets are a very touchy subject and he’ll probably get a few ignorant comments.

Bindi is an absolute joy to watch. She is just the sweetest, and most patient dog I've seen in a long time. The way she just drops her kills for the smaller dogs is amazing. Seems to be all about her confident nature, and nothing at all about submission to the other dogs. She's just very giving and having the time of her life hunting with her favourite people and fellow canines.

8:13 and once again, Bindi decides that the terriers have that rat covered, and leaves them to it so she can find another rat for herself. This dog is amazing; I have never even _heard_ of a terrier, ANY breed of terrier, doing this. I know she learned this from her big brother Boss, but still... Boggle on, dude. And Lord; Sherlock was in _rare_ form today! I dislike rats (a lot), but for me, the biggest draw of your videos and channel is seeing how happy your animals all are, MinkMan. Watching the pure enjoyment that both your dogs and mink express when hunting is something that I find both educational and interesting. I understand the benefits of eliminating river rats(thats what muskrats are called here were i live), rats, mice and other animals that are pests from areas. Its refreshing to see it done in a natural and environmentally safe manner in stand of just laying toxins that harm other animals without thought of the harm it will cause in the long run. Because of your channel i have started looking into training my own dogs on how to hunt the pests that have the possibility to be on our property and the ditches behind our property as well. So far the training has been successful but its still early in the my dogs training. Thank you for your hard work and for being a great example on doing a job in a better way.

Your work with the mink and dogs in the partridge farms actually helped me realize how a "devouring mother" institution I was contending with operated. The partridge farm has netting and walls to keep predators out. It works, but now rats explode inside undeterred and feast on the food and eggs. You could get an exterminator, mink and dogs: bring in controlled predators with discernment. Or you could buy traps and poison, which are more miserable for the rats, probably won't get all of them at scale, and can cause collateral damage; but the only discernment needed is the supplier, and where to place them. You described this dynamic in a past video, and as I was describing it to a friend, I realized this was the exact same pattern that was playing out in this in the institution. It was a devouring mothet that tried to keep out predators but still had to worry about rats inside, but thet were so concerned with predators that they were hostile to mink and dogs too. But the hostility manifested in "traps" (particularly conversational shibboleths) and a trickle of poison to weaken "rats" that snuck in (e.g. passive aggression, thought terminating cliches, weakening idioms). There was a terrible lack of discernment, and huge reliance on outsourcing the discernment to absent authorities who became means of traps. I write this, both because it may help someone else, and to thank you and show how your work is helping people in ways you may not have realized. Thank you.

To be clear, this is not to say that there isn't a place for traps, or even poison, but that this manifestation was clearly a result of a wariness, even hostility, of any predator, even helpful ones.

Really impressed me when Sherlock killed a rat then immediately left it and went to kill another one all on his own. He's a killing machine. How do you handle guest dogs who aren't routinely around mink?

I just found your channel and have been enjoying your videos, your minks and dogs are amazing! one question, do the mink or dogs ever get bitten by the rats, I would imagine they do at some points, how do you have to treat these and have you ever had any issues with infection or anything?
