@tanya kimbeFacts💯. It's brilliant. Sometimes too many fancy amenities make you "soft" so to speak. Unfortunately t&f is not as popular here in the U.S. like in Jamaica, but many sprinters here should take note. It's not about the equipment or anything like that. It's about the quality that goes into the training. And to me, you never go wrong working with the earth. It will always make you stronger

@tanya kimbe and yes we do walk barefoot in our homes and in the summer.. a lot of athletes actually do warm up drills to strengthen the feet barefoot in socks...before practice begins... a lot of distance runners run barefoot...but thats besides the point. Come up here to the North America and live in the midwest ..where there is a real winter or where it is cold 6 to 7 months out of the year.. and try walking around barefoot outside...when its below zero, on concrete.. You will be in the hospital with frost bite getting your toes amputated... or you will end up with arthritis from the cold destroying your bones.

To those of u going grass is why Jamaicans are fast...you're oversimplifying & actually insulting the dedication, intelligence & fortitude of a Shelly-Ann. The majority of athletes at MVP aren't faster than a US counterparts. (Eg: How many of the guys in this video are faster than Trayvon Brommel? None) There's a few elite athletes here Shelly-Ann, Shericka...& guess what: they would be elite, training on grass, dirt...in Jamaica or in Miami

To be honest, if you go to rural areas in the United States like some of the rural areas in Florida, you see speed and talent like this all the time. Unfortunately, you never hear about because our country is to busy trying to create systems to marginalize them and lock them up instead of developing the talent.

They do have high end facilities.. why would you assume they dont after 1 video.. lmao.... They are training on the grass on purpose... because there is more give to the ground making the workout more difficult, while at the same time putting less strain on the body... than in comparison to practicing on a track. Also high end facilities dont matter as much with track because its so simple unlike in other sports. The difference between a higher end and lower end track is marginal.
