She was just being a little brat and honestly needed an a** whooping. Jeff may have been a jerk about the whole pregnancy thing, but that doesn't mean he can't change. He helped Connie get her stuff after the tornado destroyed her home. And he decided not to snitch on her for the gambling room because he felt like she had endured enough. He was genuine in that he was upset George died and was trying to give comfort to the family. Missy was only thinking about herself and felt like only her grief mattered. Like FFS Missy, Sheldon hates religion to the core yet he went through the baptism. If that was my daughter, she would pay dearly for being rude and storming out like that. And no, grieving is not an excuse. Heck, I might consider signing her up for military school; let's see her try to act like a brat there.

..."I believe in you" - might be the most tender moment coming out of Sheldon's mouth, toward his Mom, in the 7 years of the show. Edited- I guess he said that same phrase is season 1 Ep1 when his mom asked him to accompany her to Sunday church.

When Sheldon walks in for the baptism... Mary: What are you... Nope, it's fine. The important thing is that he's here. Meemaw: Moonpie, you gotta be kidding me. Dale: Oh brother, what am I looking at. Mandy and Georgie: That's our younger brother, all right. Pastor Jeff: I know baptizing Sheldon is a win, but this isn't the win I was imagining.

After Missy left the church before her baptism, I wish we could've gotten an apology to her mother and one final tearful hug between the two.
This must be a funny yet wholesome moment. They were sad for weeks after George's passing and this unsual way of Sheldon made them laugh or chuckle after so long. That makes it so wholesome.
It was nice to have some humor after a such an emotional episode😢 and leave it to sheldon to give us that humor!🤣
I almost just died. I chose the wrong moment to take a gulp of my drink. I was caught completely unaware by that moment. I just somehow didn’t expect that. I should have. After 12 seasons of big bang and 7 seasons of this I should have known Sheldon would never do this normally lol 😛 Mandy and Georgie laughing and dale with his head in his hands had me buckelt. Only Sheldon. Lol 😛
This reminded me of the time when Sheldon was forced to take a swim test in the high school's pool. But during the test, he caught a cold (from Billy Sparks) and infected his entire family and half the school.
Rubberband Man was the absolute best choice for this scene 😂
what a legend !!! the music and how he walks, the pointing I love it
When Sheldon comes out in the middle of the church decked out in all that scuba gear and Dale looks at him like “oh for Christ’s sake” I literally couldn’t breathe, I was laughing so hard. 🤣🤣🤣
The red haired lady in the background behind mary is laughing her ass off and it killed me lol
Dale when Sheldon comes in is like: Oh my God... Is this really happening? I love it 😂😂😂

Wow, Sheldon hitting the targeting, in saying exactly the one thing that Mary needed to hear in that moment.
When Sheldon Cooper gives his mother a "thank you" sign pre baptism.
this is by far my favorite scene
Wow! Sheldon was able to overcome fear for his mom. That's dedication
I understood how upset Missy was over losing her father and she was coping with her grief by being mad at the World. However, that wasn't cool how she was being so disrespectful towards Pastor Jeff and her Mother and storming out the way she did, also reneging on her promise to get baptized. It wasn't just disrespectful towards her Mother, but her Grandmother who begged her and Sheldon to do it in order to help their Mother feel better. But I was touched by Sheldon by him choosing to stay and honoring his Mother and his Meemaw's wishes. And I just died laughing with him coming out in that scuba gear for the baptism. Even though he didn't do it often, it did show that there were times he would put his own personal feelings aside to try to make people closest to him happy.

@@peruvianpuffpepper904 Chuck Lorre is hugely inconsistent in how he depicts Mary. Mary in TBBT claimed to attend a church with Pentecostal healing obsessions. In the phone call with Sheldon about Mary's ring, Mary's views of the whole Jesus Mary Magdalene thing is way off the mark. Also, it is very clear throughout the series that both Mary and Pastor Jeff are not the best communicators. Even though George Sr technically got baptized according to this series, George Sr was all throughout the series initially indifferent toward, and eventually hostile towards the Christian church, particularly Mary's Church. George Sr pushed for Mary to join a different church, but Mary refused. Even when they show a "better" church pastor like Rob, they turn Rob into a small sleazebag who shows interest in Mary but they never have a sexual affair.

There's doing an activity to make your parent happy and then there's forced indoctrination which is what Mary and then Meemaw was doing with Sheldon and Missy. Baptism isn't just sucking it up and going to church with your mother or spending the entire day with her doing activities she likes. It's a religious ceremony that symbolises your committment to the faith of christianity. Missy had every right to not want to do it. But she was clearly guilted into it by Connie. However, once she was there and heard what Pastor Jeff said she didn't want to be there anymore because her feelings of anger would not be washed away with the baptism. I really disagree with how they portray that it's ok for Mary to have done this. It's consistent for her character. But the fact that nearly everyone backs her up just because it'll make her feel better makes me annoyed that hardly anyone sees sense in how wrong it is to do that.

I kinda lean towards more to Sheldon when I was struggling with grief, I found my self being more kind to other people. Partly because of the regret of not being kinder when that person was around and also just being able to sympathize with others. But I wouldn't invalidate how Missy deal with grief too, because I had that phase too. Felt like everybody felt fake and didn't know the full extent of the pain I was going through.
Hey ya'll prepare yourself for the rubberband man!
S1 EP 1 (First Episode) : Sheldon went with his mom to go to church not because he believes in god but because he believes in his mom S7 EP 14 (Last Episode) : Sheldon got baptized also because he believes in his mom It's really sweet how sheldon never stopped believing in his mom in the entire series
The fact they played rubberband man as Sheldon walks out in slow motion (not to forget looking dapper for a teenager we know him to be) cracked me up so hard and happy at the same time! The reactions from the first row was hilarious. And my favourite was Sheldon pointing his finger in such a sassy way towards his mom saying 'this one's for you mom'. 🫶🏻🥵😍🔥 Heartbroken the show has ended ..😭
Heartless. This proves why Sheldon is Mary’s favorite instead of Missy. Sheldon made the greatest sacrifice to make his mother happy instead. Missy just walked away with her dignity and pride 🤣🤣🤣🤣 0:18

I know missy should not be disrespectful to anyone but we have to understand that youst like her family she had a really hard time and i guess the im sorry for your loss is a bit hard on her because of the reminder that her father is never coming back. And i understand that Mary is grieving too and wants to protect her children but she finds council on church but missy and sheldon need to find there own comfort and forcing them to go to church and get bathtize is youst another reminder tha they are doing all of this because George is dead.
I want session and episode
This comment section is unbelievable. Missy literally just lost her dad, the person she was closest to out of everyone in her family. Of course she’s going to take it harder than everyone else. And also they literally tried to guilt trip her into getting baptized in the first place. This was more important for Mary rather than being there for her own daughter. It’s absolutely insane anyone is even on Mary’s side here. She’s selfish through and through. At least Missy was willing to put in the effort to help her mom grieve by getting baptized. She only left because Pastor Jeff was being a hypocrite. The church has literally abandoned their family so many times so of course Missy’s going to get upset when they try to act like they always cared. They are literally showing the reason why Missy is the way she is in the Big Bang Theory. She lost the only person in the world who understood her.

At the end of the day, George Sr was Missy’s rock. And when you lose your rock, your anchor, especially when you’re a teenage girl dealing with all sorts of complicated physical and mental changes, it doesn’t end well. Every single girl I went to school with, INCLUDING myself, was a mess between the ages of 13 and 18. We had different messes depending on our personalities and home lives, but everything felt out of place and nothing ever seemed to make sense. So we were all ticking time bombs. And this was WITHOUT losing our parents! Sheldon and Missy handled their grief in two different ways, neither of them helpful. Missy lashed out at everyone while Sheldon bottled his up and never allowed himself to process that pain. As for the comments section, YS isn’t the only show where a teenage girl is held up to unreasonable standards by fans. In every show I’ve come across, commenters are so much harder on teen girl characters, putting so much more hate on them than GROWN ADULT characters who’ve done far worse. Yet while their characters are hated and trashed, the actresses themselves are often sexualised despite being only a few years older than said character. It makes me wonder how these “fans” treat teenage girls in their own families and social circles.

Pastor Jeff is awful as usual, and he comes off as the worst person in this clip. Mary is bad, but it’s understandable as she is grieving the loss of her husband. What Pastor Jeff should have done is tell Mary that, according to the Baptist Church, baptism is only an outer sign of inward faith and if Sheldon doesn’t believe, dunking him in water makes no difference for the state of his soul. He should have further said that doing a baptism on Sheldon would be participating in a lie, and refused to perform it. But he didn’t, because baptizing Sheldon is a big “get” for him.
