in 1992 on labor day weekend he was at a car show in Lime rock CT, I noticed him speaking to a crowd gathered around him and some of the original Lemans cars, as he walked away from the crowd he was heading my way so I reached out for a hand shake and he took it and I said to him thanks , I walked away somewhat stunned that he had shaken my hand, later on I found my girlfriend and I could hardly tell her what had happened without choking up. still do a bit thinking about it .

As someone who's loved mustangs since I was a kid (as most young boys did) and as the owner of a 2021 GT... I completely agree.
I lived in Europe, and i can tell you that when i was in 2nd grade we had a 1970 mustang pass by our school, and when everybody saw it they literally jumped to the window to watch it pass buy, i even remember how 1 girl said that when she gets older she wanted to buy that car, this car has character, and everyone always knows what it is when it passes by
That tribute was one of the most grandiose piece of journalism of all time
i have goosebumps when jeremy narrates the heritage part with that bgm...

The heritage bit about Carol Shelby made me smile with tears in my eyes. So beautiful.
Americans like cars very simple... they care about power more than comfort, unlike Europeans! A base mustang has 305 horsepower where as a BMW 328i for example only has 240 horsepower... In America BMW is $10000 more than a mustang! Shelby GT500 is a true muscle car it was never designed for great handling, but its a true power house

Such an incredible tribute. Every time I watch this I get chills.
3:13 no its not "lavishly equipped" the point of a Shelby is not to be the most luxurious car but to really make a connection with the driver. Driving it (even at slow speeds) you feel it and respect it. And from what I've seen, you can really do some crazy stuff with it once you get to know it.
such a beautiful car...

Great episode. I'm glad that Jeremy respects the tradition of Carroll Shelby. Mr. Shelby made these vehicles for the working man to afford. An attainable goal that one could reach, and not cost you six figures. This is so much more than a car.. It encapsulates the dreams and aspirations of millions of people.
