Player had a couple of other "hits" one of which was " This Time I'm In It For Love" but back then if you didn't produce a top ten hit on the charts... problems would slowly creep in. Eventually there was a lawsuit. Over time there were about 18 different members of Player. At any rate we do have this song to remind us of how beautiful that great harmonies sounded. Take care..

"Yacht Rock" wasn't an official classification for the music produced during that time period (late 70s-early 80s) which was basically soft rock and adult contemporary and the term really originated in around 2005. Many successful artists like Hall and Oates, Steely Dan, Boz Scaggs, etc. found it offensive for their music to be associated with this new sub genre of music.

Even though I was a rockin' teen in the 1970s when this song came out I had to acknowledge at the time that it was a very catchy soft rock/pop tune. Still holds up really well. How these guys didn't make a lot more memorable music is beyond me. The guitarist was really good. P.S. In the realm of one-hit wonders like Player, you should check out another one-hit wonder. The Dutch group Diesel had a super catchy tune called Sausalito Summer Nights in the late 1970s. You won't be able to get the main guitar riff out of your head; there is also a nice solo in it.

Good music, sheet talent and no autotune. Have you ever done "Brandy" by Looking Glass? Another one hit wonder, but well worth listening to.

These guys had 3 hits off this album opened on tour for Boz Scaggs and Geno Vanelli. They then got booked to open for Eric Clapton and wrote their next album as a rock album, grew their hair long and never had another hit. This song was number 1 for three weeks. It was in one of the transformer movies
