ABOUT ME
I’m 32 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city (something I still do) and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 850 breeding ewes.
I shore over 19,000 sheep this season in the UK and have my own shearing run which lets you see many different farms in the summer months.
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on KZread and decided I could have a go and now here we are!
Thanks for watching my videos and please subscribe if you want to see more in future.

Lizzie is amazing to me. No matter what she is doing she brings an infant with her. Not many women would be able to do this. Nothing seems to stop her. Jock must be a wonderful baby.

Think it's safe to say that a fair few farmers are diversifying into other projects to boost their income, you have done the same , albeit in a way that doesn't suit most - being in front of a camera and talking, then publishing that on the world wide web!! Thanks Cammy, you deserve whatever good fortune comes your way!! Brilliant wee day out for the three of you,- I think Lizzie joining a tug team could have swayed the balance, we all know she is the hardest worker!!💪🏻🐑❤!!.

A lot of fun. In the States we have county fairs, state fairs and wool gatherings where sheep are shown. Our fiber arts group one year at fair had a sheep shearing demonstration of a “colored sheep.” The sheep was dyed with kool aid in different colors. The ram was so patient. He was a big Border Leicester. He threw wonderful lambs. Back then there were not as many breeds shown as there are now. As a spinner having so many wools to play with is wonderful.

Hey it is like a Dog Show except it is sheep. (Dog person here, attended a few in my life and had my dog shown). I have attended some Agriculture Exhibitions in Nova Scotia and New Brunswick Canada. Mostly Dairy Cattle and Beef Cattle but of course they have other things to to keep the interest, like Petting Barns for the children. Alpacas, tractor pulling, barrel racing, 4 H Club booth, Clydesdales all decked out in their finest and Oxen also all decked out in their finest. Hmmm a Sheep Show neat. (I am very familiar with a 💩 show lol), I do love those Valley Black Nose sheep.

For our shearing we employ a contractor who brings 15 men for 5/6 weeks. Meat for the men is butchered right there near the shed. The butcher bet the gun shearer that he could kill, skin and dress the 2 tooth merino faster than the shearer could shear a similar sheep. Bets were mostly on the shearer but the butcher won by 5 seconds

Here is something I don't know if you've ever noticed. When I was working as an interpreter in costume at a historical living history farm museum, when asking the audience to participate like when you ask them to touch the sheep, did you ever notice that the kids come forward right away, but the adults hold back?. Once you get one adult to come forward then many more adults will follow. I noticed the same thing when you were doing the shearing demonstration.

Sheep at 9:22 says no biscuits this week. Jubilee pudding, please. 👑 Poor sheep, you take her clothes off in front of these complete strangers, threaten to take a tea break, and then have these strangers pet her nakid flesh.

Canadian here: why are some of the sheep at the show died a yellow colour? Love your channel!

The ones dyed yellow are Suffolk sheep. The only thing I could find on the color is that it's been tradition for a long time to dye the ones they want to show yellow..
