This is definitely better than my apartment. I want OUT when my lease is up in a few months, but can't afford to even get started since all my income goes to rent. I'm retired and a home just like this would be everything I need to live out my remaining years.

So many nice details. I love the electric fireplace, cedar celling accent and Dormer clerestory windows. I like the gray wall color to the right of the fridge, myself, but I agree a lighter color might be less tiresome in the long run.

Pretty impressive, young man. Been toying with picking up 10 acres north of Greenville, and doing this exact thing for our retirement. Have 156 acres and a big house, and its getting to be too much. Life seems like it would be more simple and less stressful if we downsized a bit. Again, nice damn job !

So we start with huge houses that dwindle down into what is now known as the tiny house movement, and looking at these " She'd to house" homes, we're slowly going back up in home size which, is where we started out in the first place. Anyway you two are doing an amazing job and I'd buy one of your homes in a heartbeat. 2 THUMBS UP

A cheat for those big windows DONT buy windows! Buy a glass door with no hole cut for knob and lay in long ways. It runs you about $120 to $140 If you want you can put the door screen on outside and hinge in place so that it lifts up

I think that it's funny going through the comments on here. Most folks haven't stopped to think about the fact that a "normal" house say 1500sqf. Was considered to be a large home/house not to long ago. People forget that for thousands of years people lived in one room huts that may have been around 100sqf to 200sqf. I've seen plenty of original homestead houses where 10 kids were raised be very small (if not extremely small). In less than a hundred years people's mindsets have changed. So I applaud you and your brother for doing this.

Looks good. I’ve got a 14x40 ft I am currently working on. It’s double lofted, not to keen on the lofts, I may take them out but I may just use one for sleeping area and the other for storage to keep floor area space. It will have a front kitchen, full bath with walk In shower. Front covered patio area. Full electric and plumbing. Got the shell for about $10,000.

Like I said a bit ago this home is the best one I have ever seen !! Omg a shed , this is a mansion to me !! We have family who live right outside of Terrell Texas another nice place in a state we plan on moving to in about 2 years ( maybe sooner) bringing our 401ks to buy some land and plant down roots. I am a native west Virginia resident, so was my great , great grandparents, my hubby is a naturalized citizen from Mexico city, he has been in the United states 36 years and we have been married 31 years raised 3 sons. Our grandkids are almost all grown up except 1 . West Virginia is a beautiful state but living only 50 miles about 40 minutes by train from Washington D.C. ppl are running from high taxes and traffic in Va and Maryland and Pa and bringing there crazy liberal views here and messing up our beautiful state !! I promise when I move to big and beautiful Texas I will not bring any craziness only a good heart and mind my business. God bless all of you and as i have said , your home is gorgeous. All of you are amazing !!

No stove is a great idea as they're just a pain to keep clean and they take away from usable counter space. When I built the kitchen in our hanger I purposely did not install a stove/oven but opted for using a couple hot plates, toaster oven, electric skillets, crockpots, microwave, a deep fryer, pizza cooker, and most important a good BBQ grill. I lived with that setup for 22 years and never once missed not having a stove/oven. If I ever remodel the kitchen in my house I'm getting rid of both the stove and dishwasher.

Ok awesome work. Suggestion putting in three mini split a/c units. One for each bedroom and living room. Also you ca putt rn three burner propane stove with oven. They measure about 14 inches wide 14 inches deep and 24 high. They drop right into the countertop. Again time money. I pulled my stove out of my Rv now workshop and placed it I. My small cabin kitchen. Can bake a pizza or a good size chicken. Has 4 burners. Been using it for like eight years E Z P Z. Same with mini splits. Individual temperature control.

The wood accent wall for the fireplace and the wood ceiling in the dormer above the entry turned out amazing!!! Looks like it’s magazine ready really. I was wondering tho about the wood. I know you said you used cedar but is it rough cut or smooth finish and did you stain it or use a sealer of any type? Did you use tongue and groove, shiplap, or plain cedar boards? I’m in process of putting wood on my ceilings in my living room, dining room, and kitchen and I really like the look of yours. Doing a fantastic job, take care

What type of foundation did you install? And, did you have to get a permit??? Thanks

We had a few inches of roadbase put down. Then added cynder blocks on top of that. We live far enough in the country that we didn't need any permits.
