People should be encouraged to work on their own cars. I work in a main dealership and I can see how ridiculously expensive repairs and servicing is. It's very easy with KZread videos to show how to do it.

Ivan as an observation of the car which is brilliant, the rear vents actually do more than aesthetics, they actually reduce the air pressure in the rear wheel arch due to the low pressure at the back of the car sucking the air out. Modern car do this for aerodynamic down force, have a look at the Rear of a Lotus Evora 410 sport. May be not to the same extent on the 300, but they have the same effect.

The 300S was a fantastic race car. I saw Bill at Thompson Raceway mid 50's and that thing would really sing. What teenager would have at that time not been impressed, and still am today..These multimillion dollar cars today were unobtainable then, but saw them all that the Glen, Cumberland, Sebring and Laconia etc. when they were really racing. You did a fantastic job on that special you created.

Very interested in the Maserati build .Taylor and Crawley held the dealership along with Chipstead Motors back in the '60s and as Mike Taylors "sales mechanic" ,after His accident at Spa in 1960 .I saw a few of the original 3500gt cars . I really liked them other than 6 actual head sealing rings with a normal gasket round the edges of the block/head . These did cause a few problems .resulting in the odd cylinder pumping coolant out of the exhaust ! .Regarding Your headlamp nascelles ,the Company in question was in fact White Ellerton who did indeed did all of our perspex work for Us my time at Lotus ,mainly for the Elevens .I had a few trips over the big old house wher the genius worked moulding the perspex parts in what was two of the bedrooms quite a fascinating procedure in those days too. Being a good few years older than Your good self ,I find the way You go about your business shows how the jobs were done back in those good old 50s and 60s so many thanks for the "new venture" (Shed Racing) I look forward to seeing the Seven out on track later too .

Many years ago,in Australia I was poking around in a shed at the back of a Workshop an old mate was running. The shed had been a blacksmiths forge in the 1800's and had the usual old stuff laying about in the dirt floor. One of the things laying there was head off a six cylinder engine .I asked my mate if it was a Jag ,"no" he replied,"its a maserati 3500 head, the rest of the engine is here too..." ! In the dirt and so on . Anyway the whole was retrieved so 30 years later by a dealer here in Brisbane and it was the same the 3500GT donor car in the vid. Interesting to note that Jay leno also has one. They have gone from virtually Worthless to quite valuable.

All with engine mods, some amazing creations from basically a shed. Your Maserati creation is beautiful, looks right. Would be good to hear it driving if you get the chance.

@@shed_racing Cheers, i think i can see on the road test, looks like coolant temp left and oil press right. The issue with the HT lead shows really well how just one leaky lead can kill the whole ignition. You'd think on a six with 2 'plugs per cylinder it would be fine, but no. All the juice goes away, presumably because the coil doesn't have time to recover..
