My grandpa, a 7th calvary Vietnam veteran watched this show from beginning to end. He had lived so long and done so much, and lost so much. He was a hard but proud man. I can only count so many time I've ever seen him cry. He cried at the end of this show. And I'm happy to have watched this phenomenal show with him.

Lost my best friend and the only woman I've ever loved 5 days before Christmas. I was on a self destructive path because I didn't know how to live without her. I watched this scene the other day and it really put things into perspective for me. Although she is gone, she still lives on through me. Watching this made me feel less alone and gave me hope that I'll see her again, in this life of the next ❤

The writing is superb. The acting is phenomenal. The music is perfect. This is what modern shows should strive for.
I just lost my brother, my best friend in life, to cancer last week and was so blessed that he wanted me to take care of him till the end 💞 My nephew, his son, just sent this to me because we are both shattered with our grief - man, it's left me blubbering! Gil and I missed SO many miles of road trips that I wanted to take him on when I became the gypsy of the family. Hey Gil! - You're going to hit the road with me, and you'll see everything I've wanted you to see!! ❤️
Sam just pulls you in with scene. You get a real sense Shea's sorrow. A 3 1/2 minute performance worthy of an Emmy.
As long as I live I will never forget this poignant and heart-rending scene. Masterful life lesson presented by the incredible Sam.
I give Isabel a huge amount of credit for resisting the urge to brush the hair out of her face during this scene. It must have been bugging the hell out of her but she knew that Elsa was grieving and wouldn't have noticed or cared about her hair at that moment.

Yellowstone is great of course. But stopped watching when 1923 came out and wanted to start from 1883 to 1923 to Yellowstone. I was so mad when it ended. Wish I had 5 seasons of 1883 instead of Yellowstone. Absolutely impeccable show. Masterclass writing. And masterclass acting by Elliot, Isabel may (Elsa), Tim McGraw and faith hill. So f’ing addicting.

I have never heard a quote that meant so much to me. One of the few times I’ve ever broken down watching a series. I loved this series to pieces more than I thought I would, everything about it was special to me. This scene, however? Damn it, it was beautiful and it hit home like nothing else.
Shea comforts Elsa. WOW!!!! what a beautifully written scene!!!!
This scene is so powerful. It makes me pause to analyze how beautifully it is written. I can't describe the emotions in this scene.
Powerful scene. As a father, or any man who sees a young woman in pain from a death of a soul mate this is well done. Taylor Sheridan is truly gifted. And these two brought it to life. As I watched this it put a lump in my throat. To see a an Alpha male speak to a young woman with such care and heart felt tenderness is gut wrenching. Outstanding show!!

I like it when shows have characters that you wouldn't think would interact with each other end up doing so. And it makes sense why Shea would comfort Elsa in this scene.
This and the “Sam! Ah kah nah kun tun nuh!” scenes were my two favorite scenes in the series. Also loved the hair/knife exchange.
I don't have anyone left who loves me .... That hit close 😢
1883 went way down to the core, moving would be a vast understatement, immediately invested and transfixed throughout, shed buckets of tears, didn't want to leave that world and I go back often, beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.

I feel exactly the same way. When her beloved died, I was experiencing the tearful emptions right long with her, as I lost my beloved 4 months ago myself. I took it to heart what Shea was telling her. I did NOT want this series to end. I still haven't watched the finale.
Showed this to my husband, he said it was beautiful and made him want to cry. But it's so powerful as well - because it's true.
Such powerful writing, not just the words, but also the fact that it is Shea who goes to comfort Elsa despite their rare interaction, so unexpected yet so affecting!
I'm sitting here having lunch & the lump in my throat about choked me. I need to see the rest of this.

''I'll tell you why I'm still sucking air today'' so authentically cowboy and American. Such a powerful and memorable scene. Beautifully written.
For me the best scene in this series
Sam Elliot just gave the best performance of his career. Unbelievable.
Her little whimper at 2:17.
He is one of the few actors who could do this scene with the emotional authenticity. Not over the top, but subtle, deeply felt emotional damage.
Truly heartfelt! The perfect message as I lost my husband last year.

It's kind of a shame the way the movie industry has gone - as far as everything is now pretty much streaming. She would have been a huge movie star. Unfortunately, that platform isn't as relevant today :( Still, she is not only beautiful, but an amazing actress.
Taylor Sheridan is a natural poet.

I know I will never meet this man. However, if I ever did... I would walk up to him, give him a hug and simply tell him thank you and turn around and walk away. I know these were scripted lines, but as he spoke these words I knew that he was speaking a truth that no one in this world would ever be able to speak. These words pulled me out of a hole that I had fallen into and helped me ask for help after I lost my mother in 2022. When I find myself missing her and starting to head back to that hole I play this video because it reminds me that she is still with me. Thank you Mr. Elliot.
