Don't let the dull title fool you, this one is a lot of fun.
What's standing in the way of immortality? Why only miles of unstable glacier, murderous cave dwellers and of course, She Who Must Be Obeyed! It's 1935 and we're going on an epic adventure called She.
In Seen It, we discuss films that we have seen in the Cinema. Three best picture nominees...and Wayne's World.

Welcome To The Basement" is a show about watching, discussing and having fun with movies. Matt choses the movie and Craig doesn't know what it is until the cameras start rolling, so none of the discussion or riffing is planned ahead of time.
Movie announced on facebook before every new episode. Get the movie and follow along. We do discuss the entire movie, including the ending, so if you want to avoid spoilers, watch the movie first.

"You don't know SHE? You don't know sheet!" Well done Craig.
After 9+ years this is still one of my favorite shows.
9:46 "Go to the Black Crack! Seek out the Lost One! He will show you the magical portal to the Fairy Realm."
Short Circuit is the movie that got me interested in robotics when i was a child, working in robotics industry now i'm eternally grateful to this film !
I think for October, you should pay a tribute to Wes Craven, a genius of scary movies. It's so sad that he passed away :'(
If Matt hasn't finished a movie, is it eligible to be on the show?

+mustang6172 Yes. Bedazzled and My Own Private Idaho were both movies that I had partially seen in the past but never completed.

The scariest movie I've watched in a while is the Korean "A Tale of Two Sisters". It's mostly a psychological suspense movie, but there were a couple moments when I had to pause it and turn on all the lights.
I'm binging old episodes. whenever i do this my list of fav episodes completely changes haha
Thanks for naming CiCi - Cecil. I thought we were going to have to get another cat just so we could name one in honor of that poor lion. xoxo
You should watch Exorcist 3. Most people wrinkle their nose when i mention it, but it is truly underrated. George C. Scott and Brad Dourif. And of course the welcome to the basement connection. "From the writer/director of The ninth configuration..."
For Halloween, please watch one of the Tales from the Crypt movies. My fave is Demon Knight :)
I really think you guys should watch Horror Express. Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing, a truly ridiculous plot, and Telly Savalas chewing all the scenery as a Russian captain make this a definite must see.
14:30 bill o Reilly has a lot of good ideas i died
It's nice to know that the only thing preventing Evil Craig from taking over is a knowledge of his own mortality.
I would love to hear your perspectives on Darren Aronofsky's "The Fountain". It is my favorite movie and has, quite possibly, the most stunning cinematography in all of cinema.
Watch Lucio Fulci's City of the Living Dead! The guy has a distinct feel to his movies and this one features some FANTASTIC gore-scenes, as well as a riveting soundtrack (part of which is obviously inspired by of Dawn of the Dead (1978), check out the second half of the truck sequence). But really, any Fulci film would be cool! Italian horror is a mandatory part of the horror-curriculum if you ask me.
I love watching this show. Even in the darkest and saddest of times this channel is always able to bring a smile to my face and a couple laughs. I've watched this episode probably 20 times and its always just as funny and entertaining as the first time. Thank you guys at BlameSociety for providing all the laughs from Drunk Santa, Fun Rangers, Chad Vader to BBG and WTB. I literally grew up on your humor.
I can't hear his name without (of course) thinking "You'd do it for Randolph Scott!" [awed whispers of "Randolph Scott!"] [heavenly choir] "RANDOLPH SCOTT!"
Another quality episode. Thanks a bunch, guys! Love your show!
Holy shit, Cici's growing bigger like crazy. Give him a pet for me, why don'tcha?
I just got round to watching all the Lego Stars Wars mini movies & shorts, good job on those Matt, the ones you were in obviously, it added to the fun knowing you were in them.
Another week, another great episode. You guys never disappoint. Looking forward to October's scary movies!
She (1965) Hammer version starring Ursula Andress, Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee was a very successful, and colourful, remake.
You guys have probably watched them already but you should see 1)Devil's backbone 2) Cabin in the woods
Woah! Holly is Nigel Bruce aka Watson from Sherlock Holmes with Basil Rathbone! I love him! She's cinematography and set design is cool. The ice set, when Tanya goes through the smoke to see She, and the chasm look neat. Hi to Cecil Sloan!
HA HA! No DVD collection is complete without that Andy Sidaris DVD set! Pure direct to cable B-movie indulgence!
Some recent recommendations I can make for your Halloween episodes, "The Bobadook", an Australian film which actually infiltrated my dreams, legit scary and this is coming from a die-hard horror fan and "It Follows", which is eerie and tense throughout. You also mentioned the Cryptkeeper, which made me think of the original "Tales From the Crypt" movie from 1972, massively underrated and worth a watch, ominous and haunting that one is. Great episode!
Thanks, guys! That was a really good one.
I love this show. You guys are the best
For your scary movie month you should watch The Woman in Black. I feel like it was seriously underrated when it came out. There are a lot of good jump scares, but I think the best part is how beautifully it was filmed. The long shots of the house and the moor make me happy inside.
Please watch Stalker, the Russian movie from 1972, I loved it and i think you would have tonnes to say about it.
For Halloween, I could recommend a ton of horror movies from the western world to y'all, but I'm gonna keep requesting Korean films until I see one make it to your show. A Tale of Two Sisters is a classic, Bedevilled is one that I just recently watched, and Three Extremes is actually not exclusively Korean, but a collaboration of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean filmmakers.
love this channel and show!
If you haven't seen it, I highly suggest Ana Lily Amirpour's "A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night". I can admit that this artsy little black and white film may not be up everyone's alley, but the lonesome atmosphere combined with beautiful visual storytelling certainly makes it worthy of being seen. Great job, as usual, and I look forward to the next video!
I walked during Star Wars: the phantom menace. I was visiting the states and I have never gotten so many shameful stares as I split the scene ;) instead I went back to a comic book store and bought Batman: black and white. Way better way to spend money. Not that I was a big Star Wars fan to begin with, but that movie made me never watch the next two prequels... TY for watching movies Matt and Craig!
Great show. Delighted to hear that you have the exact same feelings about Saving Private Ryan as i do.
An American Werewolf In London would be an ideal October pick for Welcome To The Basement I think. It's the movie that first got me hooked on campy horror.
Vaargtimmen, AKA Hour of the Wolf. Very Lynch-like horror movie directed by Ingmar Bergman. Also: Le Locateur, AKA The Tenant, Roman Polanski's creepiest movie.
As usual you guys raised the bar
How about Black Christmas (1974)? Scariest movie I've seen so far, and more people need to see it.
I walked out on "Fighting" too! I think I only got through 15 minutes. My friends didn't leave though so I was alone in my protest, but not anymore!
When I saw the title I thought this would be the 1982 "She", then I remembered the year choices. I reviewed the 1982 "She" and it was so weird it inspired me to start adding movie clips to my reviews.

+Raymond Smith Not nearly enough robotic Frankenstein monsters, lepers or gladiator nazis in this version.
love how craig calls it the big leather couch
Hard ticket to Hawaii is one of the best cult films of all the time. Totally worth the watch.
13:28 Fun fact: The woman who plays "She" in the 1982 version is the woman from Connan
Hey Matt and Craig, watch the 2014 horror movie Annabelle. I saw the movie last year with my best friend Jorgen, and it made us fear antique dolls(esspesialy the demon possessed ones). So now i want you two to experience the horror of Annabell. BTW keep up the good work :)
I think you should watch Juan de Los Muertos (Juan of the Dead). It's a zombie comedy taking place in Cuba, made by Cubans, for Cubans. It's funny and also very interesting for that reason.
Have you seen Stardust? I am constantly amazed about how many people have never heard of this little gem.
Great show as always! I was wondering if you've seen "Moscow does not believe in tears" or "The white sun of the desert"? In my opinion the two best soviet films made!
You shoulda named your dog Nagodah. Anyhow, great episode!
2 obligatory thumbs up. Another great one!
You two should watch the 1979 cult horror classic Phantasm. Memorable practical effects and scares that left me with panic attacks as a child!
I've mentioned it in the comments on a few previous episodes, but I'd love to hear your thoughts on Mary & Max! And if you haven't seen it, I hope you guys watch it in a future episode; it's one of my all time favorites!
Suggestions for October 1. Invasion of the body snatchers-Philip Kaufman or alternate version by Don Siegel 2. Brain Dead -Elim Klimov 3. Carnival of souls -Herk Harvey
I'm surprised there were no "Sherlock Holmes"jokes seeing as Nigel Bruce played Doctor Watson alongside Basil Rathebone as Sherlock.

Yeah, I kept getting flashbacks to the old radio plays every time he spoke.
Aw, come-on, Matt! Short Circut (and it's Asimovian sequal) was fun! Oh, and it seems Cookie has a new dog! Oh, CRAP! Nigel BRUCE!!!!! "What lies BEYOND the Shugal? SUPER SHUGAL!" Awseome. Laughed!
Matt, I agree with you about Short Circuit.
Also, one of my favorite comedy horror movies "Incident at Loch Ness," which was actually the first movie featuring Werner Herzog I ever watched. I want my opera house!!!
How about my favorite movie of all time? Robert Wise's "The Haunting" - best old dark house movie ever!
Horror movies? Watch "Event Horizon." Just the right pace of suspense for horror, and also the fear of the unknown, black holes, and the vaccuum of space, and also, hell, all mixed into a perfect concoction.
"Bill O'Reilley has a lot of good ideas." XD
You should watch Possession (1981) by Andrzej Zulawski, very different kind of psychological horror film.
Question for "seen it": have you guys watched the 1967 movie "Casino Royale" with Orson Welles, Peter Seller, David Niven and the wacky Woody Allen? It even got Peter O'Toole in a small role! I loved it as a kid and re-watched it a short time ago, still get the magic feeling.
Have you fine folks ever seen Legends Of The Fall? It's one of only three Brad Pitt movies where he wasn't playing "Brad Pitt", the other two being A River Runs Through It and Seven Years In Tibet.
That She pun caught me off guard, goddamit Craig
short circuit made me cry when i was little
I don't remember if you've talked about this already, but The Exorcist is the obvious thing to recommend.
Love the Hard Ticket to Hawaii mention.
My boyfriend and I both keep waiting for the Short Circuit remake.
"A Gold Called Death" is my new band name.
If I keep pimping Batman: Mask of the Phantasm, you will eventually respond. Also watch Hard Ticket to Hawaii. It's a pretty good time.
My father read the book to me when I was a kid, and I read it twice (no less) several years ago. I also tried to watch this film, but didn't make it all the way through. I have no idea why they set this film version in the Arctic. The book was set in Africa.
Matt and Craig, will you two please do a seen it or a viewing of the movie "Random Harvest" from 1942? It was my late grandmother's favorite movie, and I would be super thrilled to hear you talk about it.
I need to know if Craig catches the postcards!!! He was on fire last time. Don't mind if he doesn't catch them but I really need the receive in the show . Great show guys! Been watching since season one!
You need to see "Grave Encounters" for Scary Movie Month. It is not scary horror but rather a psychological horror
I enjoy the show and have watched all the episodes, some even twice, I'de like to know if you've seen The Boondock Saints. Also, I sugest that you take a look at Sinister as an option for a horror movie. Greetings from Mexico.
I'd like to suggest Event Horizon. I love sci-fi, and this definitely has a horror feel to it. I've found it in both categories when looking for something to watch.
If you haven't already SEEN IT, you should watch the 1966 Hammer Films production called THE REPTILE. It's a pretty crazy FLICK and I'm curious what are your opinions on this timeless masterpiece of terror, suspense and sort of being a snake. Love the show!
I wonder if you guys have seen Killer Clowns From Outer Space. Probably. Killer Clowns, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, and Toxic Avenger were my holy trilogy of movies when I was a kid.
Ringu (1998) Creepy film and not all about creepy Japanese ghost girls crawling around. Genuine atmosphere and shots that make you clench your butt up in fear.
Rosemary's Baby. Just watched it and I loved it

rosemarys baby is a perfect movie
You guys should watch Let The Right One In, it's one of the best horror films of the 2000's and definitely the best vampires films of recent times.
For scary film month, might I suggest, Dead Calm?
You should watch Repo! A Genetic Opera, a horror rock opera by the creators of Saw. It's the kind of cool gothy movie I would have been obsessed with if it had come out when I was in high school.
First of all thank you for answering one of my "Seen It"s, and judging by the one you chose, it means the others were ones you haven't seen and hopefully they will show up on this show (though I'm sure it's wishful thinking), But either way I do love playing "Stump the Hosts" (even with the pronunciation of my name, the "que" is actually pronounced "kay") Second, I think you guys should finally watch the always a bridesmaid, never a bride of horror movies (at least when it comes to this show), Suspiria.

It'd be awesome to see you guys talk about Nosferatu. It's almost 100 years old and still genuinely creepy.
Regarding the anecdote about Quentin Taratino... that made me think about Malik Bendjelloul (creator of searching for sugarman) who kind of peaked with said documentary, which aswell was his first documentary. Wonder if he ever heard this Tarantino quote
Yo fellas, have you seen Adam Wingard's 2014 film "The Guest"? I really enjoyed this film and would describe it as 80's John Carpenter directs Drive.

+SliceOfGold Speaking of John Carpenter, you guys should watch The Thing for Halloween!
That happened with our cockatiel. We named it Tommy and then found out it was a girl. (We now spell it "Tommi"). As for horror suggestions? It's not so much a horror movie as an action movie in the horror genre, but I really like TALES FROM THE CRYPT: DEMON KNIGHT
Great episode guys, and don't feel too silly about the cat. I've had this happen with a cat that I've owned..
You should watch "Dale & Tucker vs Evil" pretty good movie in the comedy, horror genre.

Or "Let the Right One In" a very good Swedish horror film as I remember. The American versions, "Let Me In" wasn't bad either, but not better than the original.

SirGeeeO Yep your right "Tucker & Dale vs Evil"
I think you guys should watch The Thing starring Kurt Russell great horror film with great practical effects.
If you guys watch or talk about my favorite horror franchise, Scream, then I will be satisfied for this season. The first one is of course the best, but the others have their share of good moments.
At last ...Hashamotep, the original "She Who Must Be Obeyed" !! : P
Today I learnt they have Werthers Originals in America and that only old people eat them there too.
Matt needs to start pumping some iron before he blows away in the wind like an un-thethered sail.
Oh good Lord, if ever I wanted to claw my eyes out with boredom, it was when I tried watching The English Patient. Just my two cents.
Matt, how dare you sir! I loved Short Circuit when i was a kid. Of course when i recently showed it to my kids they were bored. And didn't find it funny either.
"Band of Brothers" did what "Saving Private Ryan" could not
Noticed the Joe Jackson "I'm the Man" cover in the background. Going through my folks vinyl collection I found this bad boy. After a quick listen didn't care for it. Any track I should check out before ditching it?
