She said that this would be an IMPOSSIBLE Clean Up!

Impossible yard clean up, you say - well if I can lift it I can fix it! This one was actually recommended by Dave (Jim's Mowing Glenorchy), so thanks for that mate if you're watching. This property is actually his cousin's house, and she definitely needs some help with things. The owner is a single mother and, between work and the kids, finds it hard to maintain the property. She does mow the lawn to keep it down, but the remainder requires some serious work. I will only be doing the front of this property. All up, I spent around 11.5 hours on this clean up and went to the landfill 2 times.

FAQ's:
Q: Where are you located?
A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.
Q: Which equipment do you use?
A: Mostly STIHL power equipment (battery and petrol) and commercial Honda self-propelled mowers.
Q: How much do the jobs cost?
A: Sorry, I prefer not to talk about costs.
Q: What happened to Nick?
A: Nick was offered a full-time position at his other job as a Political admin.
Q: What happened to Brent?
A: Brent quit at the start of August 2022.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷‍♂️
Q: Why are you cutting so close to your employee?
A: I'm not cutting too close to my workers, they are standing too close to where I am working! All of my workers have been told numerous times about standing too close to the tools and about the hazards involved!
Q: Why do your workers do all the lifting and carrying?
A: Basically, they are employed to carry things and I pay them well, to do the job required.
Q: You work so well together, how do you do it?
A: That's the magic of editing. My workers are basically given instructions on what to do, I just edit it all out, so the videos look seamless!
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What happened to your workers?
A: Because the work is so hard and I expect high standards, most have quit over time. The only exception so far is Nick.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem the same.
A: Quick Cuts (my orginal channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuta V2 is for those that like just machine noise and dosent have music.

Hello George, I enjoy watching your work ethic. Also been watching some of the older sites, they have grown in size and have some heavy duty equipment to save time and do bigger jobs. Unfortunately, at end of the day they have not removed the rubble, yet they expect more likes. I do have a question, arising from your moving those wood blocks and pulling out the cut branches. Have you ever come across reptiles that may be a danger to you? Thanks for a good alternative viewing. Regards from Johannesburg, South Africa.

My organizer's heart cheered when you tackled the wood pile 👌 I think often people get demotivated to clean up their yards because they don't have the proper tools. Hello George, Jeff here from North Carolina, USA. I like your channel so much better without a helper. I watch several guys with yard maintenance which all are great and I honestly do not have a 1 favorite but you stand out to me because of your constant perfection in every job. I remember years ago you commented on doing a little at a time instead of everything at once and I realized you were able to show more instant gratification, taking smaller steps. I have noticed more guys spinning off your idea. You also stand out in perfection triming trees, shrubs, plants, flowers while educating your audience which tells me you are well trained and educated in gardening. KUDOS TO YOU.

You did a fantastic job, way above and beyond. That place was rough as guts but you improved the look of it a lot! As soon as I saw all the firewood scattered around the first thing I thought was that it should be stacked neatly and sure enough you did that, which was so good of you. I know it's not rose pruning time but I think you did those rose bushes a big favour trimming and thinning them out, and they will put on a spurt of growth now. I was a bit worried seeing you without a mask with all that gravel dust blowing around though. Tsk tsk, lol. Was it just gravel or did it have cement powder in with it? It sure was dusty. I kind of hope maybe your mate Dave can give his cousin a bit of a hand. The two main things IMO are fixing the front wall (or removing it and maybe making a different kind of fence) and painting the exterior of the house. Those two things alone would add untold value to the place. And, BTW, I've learnt a ton about plants just by loving them and reading, observing, and talking to others. Google is such a big help too. 😊

Home ownership comes with responsibilities. You need the right equipment fit home ownership. Also, respect for the neighborhood and to your own children. Kids repeat what they see and need a safe and clean place to play. If the kids are older they need to start helping around the yard. Good job cleaning this home and a kit safe for the children.

I'm watching from Taiwan. You are very lucky to have such a big yard. We don't have a yard here. I lived in Texas for 3 years and my garden was emmaculate. I planted hundreds of vegetable, flowers, and fruit trees. If I can have a yard like that here is would be a true blessing. I don't have to buy vegetables. I can save so much money because of the inflation.

Like that you cut down saplings to ground level. Looks better not seeing stumps stick up n allows for easier mowing later. 👍

The hard work you put in is incredible! We can’t see how much sweat you put in this back-breaking work, but we can imagine. 2 questions for you if I may: how do you protect your back from being wrecked by all the weight you carry and the efforts you make? And how do you deal with spiders hiding in the wood stacks opand the underbrush? ❤

You really are a master of transformation. I've watched 30 of your videos so far and I'm speechless. You do it with such care and attention to detail. On some channels, the lawn is mowed and the grass is left. You really give people a new home again.

George, before I finish the video I had to say, Learning on the job is the best way.Sometimes someone can know all the right things to do from schooling and not know how to use that knowledge. You always do an excellent job and on top of that know the plants, trees and flowers you are pruning. You are a good worker and you appear to have a heart of gold.
