Have I got a good one for you today. This is one of the bigger single episode cleanups I've done lately. So this customer came through to the call centre and I went around to do a quote. The tenants were a young family, and expecting their first baby. When I saw the place, I knew it needed a lot of work to get it back into shape and decided to do it all for free to help them out. All up, I spent around 17 hours on this job, with 6 trips to the landfill and 1 trip to the metal scrappers. Enjoy!

A: I am from Hobart, Tasmania, Australia 🦘.
Q: Do you worry about snakes?
A: I have never even seen a snake in over 5 years on the job.

A: Nick was offered a full-time position at his other job as a Political admin.
Q: What happened to Brent?
A: Brent quit at the start of August 2022.
Q: Why don't you use tarps instead of bins?
A: Tarps are too difficult to move through small spaces and lift into the trailer. The same for wheelbarrows, they are only good for unloading the trailer!
Q: Why are the hot water cylinders outside?
A: I would say it's because Australia had a temperate to tropical climate, and therefore it doesn't matter that much if they are outdoors. To me, though, it seems a bit inefficient to have them outside in Tasmania with a temperate climate (coldish for 3 - 4 months per year). But that is industry standard down here 🤷♂️.
Q: Why are you cutting so close to your employee?
A: I'm not cutting too close to my workers, they are standing too close to where I am working! All of my workers have been told numerous times about standing too close to the tools and about the hazards involved!
Q: Why do your workers do all the lifting and carrying?
A: Basically, they are employed to carry things and I pay them well, to do the job required.
Q: You work so well together, how do you do it?
A: That's the magic of editing. My workers are basically given instructions on what to do, I just edit it all out, so the videos look seamless!
Q: Why don't you have help?
A: I've had many problems with employees in the past, so now I work alone.
Q: Why don't you have a ride-on mower?
A: Well, there are a few reasons.
1. I don't have the right trailer for a ride on, considering I always take away the green waste.
2. I don't have anywhere to store it, as my shed is too small.
3. A lot of the properties we do have fences and gates, so you can't actually get a ride-on on to the properties.
4. I don't do enough big jobs to justify spending 15k AUD on a stander, but it would be nice to have one!
5. I will get one as soon as my transport and storage problems are solved.
Q: What happened to your workers?
A: Because the work is so hard and I expect high standards, most have quit over time. The only exception so far is Nick.
Q: What types of ladders do you use?
A: The large one is a Gorilla Adjustable Platform 150kg and the small one is a Gorilla Mighty 19. They are both adjustable.
Q: Who/what is Jim's Mowing?
A: Jim's Mowing is a franchise business. The Jim's Group is the biggest home services franchise in Australia.
Q: Why do you have 2 channels that seem the same?
A: Quick Cuts (my original channel) has music in the background. Quick Cuts V2 is for those that like just machine noise, and it doesn't have music.

I have watched dozens and DOZENS of lawn transformation videos -!this has got to be one of my top favorites - 1. You picked up all trash 2. You RAKED along the fence line - not once but UNTIL all the dead stuff was gone 3. You cut stumps down low enough so they could easily mow over them 4. You organized the back deck by dumping and stacking all of the planters and pots 5. You hauled off the broken washing machine A STELLAR JOB on every level❤. Keep up the detailed work you are doing. Absolutely beautifully done!!!!!

Incredible makeover. It’s truly pleasing to see the removal of all the overgrown shrubs and dead tree sprouts. The property transitioned from being chaotic to intentional and immaculate. I thoroughly enjoy seeing all the remarkable work you do as the transformations always result in beauty. Assisting a pregnant person in transforming a burdensome, unruly yard is a significant relief and a gift that enables tranquility and relaxation before welcoming a new baby into the world.

They live beside a business, so they'll have more privacy than if their neighbours were householders. Don't worry about the trees & bushes he trimmed. A little rain and they'll burst out in new growth. 😁

I had to give up watching this video. Couldn't stand seeing the ugly industrial view exposed after the trees were cut.

There is no one better than you, on the Lawn Makeover channels. Your attention to detail, precision and attention is impeccable. You'll even take away trash.
You excel at keeping your chain saw sharp. Removing dead limbs. Unafraid to remove shrubs which have overgrown their placement. My husband, a Landscape Architect always says, “A beautiful plant that’s overgrown and aged past its prime and position becomes a weed.” You do excellent cleanup every single time. Your humble, hardworking ethics without any gimmicks is what are truly admirable to your channel. Curious why you left all the growth on the roof of the 2 outbuildings? I’m with the tenants, I like the overgrown bushes all removed. Did you consider topping the English Ivy?
Excellent job. Looks like a whole new place. You really should invest in a wood chipper with all the trees and bushes you chop down and then put the mulch on the yard. Cut down all those trips to the tip.
I love how you circle the property doing multiple tasks in turn before moving forward. By the time you finish the "circuit" you've nearly done everything. It also mixes up the physical and mental demands that keep the job interesting. I do the same so as to give my elderly body a chance to recover between different demands upon it. Love the videos and admire your skills. I would only suggest returning and driving a few deck screws into the lattice atop the fence that's waving in the wind at the 6:00 mark. The tenants (and landlord) must be thrilled.
Immaculate attention to detail as ever, George. Pity you can't get your recycling centre to contribute. They'd get free exposure on the channel. Tim managed to get that, and they drop commercial green bins at his job sites so he doesn't need to go to the tip. Re English Ivy, I think I said before. You did the hard work exposing the base. If you'd cut the trunks at ground level the top growth would die within a couple of weeks and collapse under its own weight as the runners go brittle. Once new growth appears just needs a spray to kill it off then.

There was some big tree branches that had fallen and he lined the driveway with them instead of removing them. He said it was decoration. They were rotten.
