The problem with Barbara’s case is that she’s not American, she’s Czech, and her family lives in the Czech Republic. Like she’s not even an American citizen nor has she lived there. Bill was an American living in Costa Rica when he met Barbara who was from Czech Republic. That’s why this case is complicated. Costa Rica can’t really do anything without a body, which is long gone by now, on top of the fact that the country is very poor. The American justice system can’t really do anything. I know it would be “morally” right to do, but realistically the American FBI is not going to spend the money on an investigation to a murder that happened outside of America to a woman that wasn’t even a citizen of the USA. The crime happened in Costa Rica to a Costa Rican tourist from the Czech Republic, so it’s not realistically the responsibility of the American justice system to investigate that. So in the end of the day, unfortunately, Bill is more than likely going to get away with it.

Never understand why women "threaten to leave". If you are planning to leave dont let anybody get even a hint of your plans. Just pack up and run away. If anything, please try and convince everybody you are never going to leave before you actually leave.

He was an idiot, he got away with murder and was lucky enough to get on a plane using his brothers passport .. why on earth would you not make your own passport in your own country???? He's stupid. He was sentenced to 3 years in prison for identity theft in 2016, and I would assume he got out after 2 years for good behavior.

His new wife was probably upset about that failed trip to Hawaii, but in retrospect, maybe that saved her life. If he got away with murder once, who said he wouldn't do it again?

That is the difference between a good theory and hard prove. This case will never be solved. No one will ever find her body and no one will ever be able to prove that he killed her. Even if he is stupid enough to confess (and he will) that's not enough. The "best" what can happen: If he killed her, he is one of those who think, that getting away once means that he is so smart that no one will ever get him. Those people kill again and then the day comes when they learn to late, that they are not that smart and don't get away by being lucky every time. Not much comfort for Barbara's family and friends, no comfort for his next victim, but kind of the guarantee that people like that will get caught one day and not walk the streets forever.

2022 : He is free, no arrest, NO INTERROGATION, no investigation, no massive search for the body/clues/witnesses, no phone tracking, NO TRIAL. Nothing on Internet : it's like this case just went cold and everyone forgot about it (even with massive amount of evidence). The only piece of evidence they didn't have... is a video of him killing her lol!!! He fled the country and used her credit card : this is already enough for an arrest! Some people have been convicted with far less, and him and Casey Anthony are enjoying their free life 😓

so basically he DID get away with it 😐

I think Barbara’s family and friends will eventually have an answer on where her body is. The way that others explain how he basically brags about her being gone makes me think he’s going to slip up or he’s going to think he’s found a friend in someone and tell them way too many details. I personally think he put her in the ocean.

barbara have such good friends, even years since her disappearance they are still working to get her justice. i really hope they'll get him soon. rest in peace barbara.

I agree HE should be locked up, but his family had nothing to do with the murder of that woman. They just want to stay out of it because he's their son and don't want to see him arrested obviously. Many parents would protect their own children even f they did something horrible.

You are wrong. Trust, love , care about your significant other. BUT, be smart if you see any change in his or her attitude towards you. Dont start taking revenge. Just pretend he or she deserves better. Let him or her go its like is not a big deal ( even though its not easy). Dont try hard to make a point and make him or her go lunatic. "I GOTTA DO IT MY WAY OR NO WAY AT ALL" its a song and doesnt always mean its good to act like that because people will turn to monsters in no time.

I like how the anonymous witness, “Janice”, has her identity hidden but the only people who would actually know her identity by seeing her face would probably know who she is anyways because friends of the victim and alleged murderer would know who their roommate is.

That's why I'm scared to date or trust anyone because you don't know what they are capable of.

That's a REALLY ignorant RIDICULOUS way to to think. How about you just open your eyes, think, pay attention, observe, research, ask questions.... ALWAYS KNOW who is in your life and why... There is nothing wrong with finding out who a person is or was. It's the smartest, safest way to be wether it's one date, a boyfriend/girlfriend, co-worker, a friend... A best friend or siblings/family members anyone you KNOW who has a new love interest.... Investigate who they are. It will take a moment and possibly save a life.... Especially your OWN....

Watch out. Some people who come across as so charming and friendly and wonderful are not

This style is really meant to shine a bright light on ongoing unsolved crimes to help solve them, but I typically like to at least know who the murderer is.

He killed her when he found out the gravey train was leaving the station and he wasn’t going to be a passenger anymore. Ladies you really have to look past the looks and the charm. Look at theirs actions and their words. It is better to be alone Then to end up dead.

How scary to meet someone and the person end up killing you

I would hate to be "beautiful" "life of the room" or "everyone's friend" seems they get murdered too often.

My friend im from that part of the country, they were investigating, they had used luminol and other investigative technics,they were in the process of gadering more evidence,he smelled it ,thats the reason he used someone else's passport to fly out and not be held by customs. People generalize when it comes to Central America, Costa Rica has a higher standard of living than the rest of our neighbours, also a higher standard of education,the OIJ agents go train in Europe and North America, must speak two languages and so on. furthermore their not Costa Rican citizens,shes polish, he is from the states. hope that helps.

Thank God for the friends who never gave up searching for her he deserves to pay for what he did to her and confess were her remains are so that her family can Finally Lay Her To Rest🙏🏻🙏🏻😢😢

I'll never understand how any female that has their act together wastes time on these men that don't. Why do they seem to want to be with these men that won't work, can't support himself and uses you? They don't change. Not worth it. Now she is missing, most probably dead and nobody deserves to be in that place. I hope they at least find her remains so her family and friends can take her home to lay at finally rest and give them at least that peace of mind and not left with unanswered questions. I also find it sad that with all those roommates none of them knows where she is and how they missed her leaving.

@@kjk607 I have been in the same shoes as you with my bestie of 25 years. Her hubby beat her when they dated, was oober controlling and she still married him. He just got worse and no matter how many times I've picked her up after he left her standing beat have to death on a road , hospital trips she still goes back. I finally had to tell her for the much my sanity as gets that I'd always be there for her if she needs but I had to take a step back. It was that or I'd go to jail for killing him. All I can do is love her and pray he don't kill her and she will finally see him as the jerk he is. Just be her support and I hope for you both she smartens up!! Best of luck to you both
