Shawn was a good friend of mine and he was definitely the best who has ever lived. Glad his work lives on through the hard work of his mother Diane -- she is an amazing woman. R.I.P. to the legend.

This exact post is what I made when I first saw a vid of him on keys before he was a guitarist.

Shawn Lane is far and above the greatest guitarist to have ever graced the world. As Andy Timmons said about him "he is just... out there"

I instantly like people who instantly like Shawn..

Shawn was the greatest player of ultra-fast legato lines of all time: the absolute FINAL word. Plus, he played with feel, so it wasn't mere boring finger exercises. Gone far too soon, but not forgotten by those who know.

There will never be another like him. He was truly a magical guitarist.

brother he is the spirit! you don't know how many number of guitarist who aspire to a virtuoso literally worships this man! he is the G.O.A.T on guitar! yes i used "is" even though he passed away many years ago. because he is untouchable.

This was a pleasant shock to see you reacting to Shawn Lane. He truly is amazing, along with his bandmates.

Always love listening to this one, just a beautiful melody you might not even notice this is an instrumental and a 7 minute one because of how well the guitar carries the entire song being almost as expressive as actual vocals...Then Shawn rips into it the last few second to remind most guitar players out there you'll never reach this insane level of proficiency on the instrument lol.

No guitarist, past or present, could make the guitar sing like that

The greatest guitarist ever.

The way he hits those harmonics at the end. Suck a sick player. True virtuoso of note shaping. To all those who say he couldn't play properly over jazz changes, come on man!
