In other words, if the judges didn't agree that Shaun White's run was the best one, then Tony Hawk would overrule the judges and make Shaun White's run the best. 😂

The fact that Tony calls the landing on the 720 when he has almost 180 still to go is amazing. Legend.

I met SW during his practices runs a couple years ago at Xgames. You know what his secret is? He had a duffel bag full of different shoes, shirts, pants, shorts, etc. Every time he didnt make the run he wanted, he switched an article of clothing. He finally landed his run once, the next day he was wearing the same set up and took gold. True Story.

I feel like street skating has made a resurgence in terms of 'core' industry stuff like video parts and merch but contest skating (especially vert) is definitely on the decline. It's not my kind of skating even though I respect it and find it impressive but it still sucks because I used to watch XGames Vert and be entertained even though I was more into street parts but nowadays I watch the latest XGames and it's so boring. Commentary sucks and the crowd is tiny and dead. The skill level of the skaters in Vert is nowhere near where it used to be 12 years ago. No one is landing anything. Sad.

I see this run as like a 97 one of the best runs all time and crazy thing it was all air tricks
